We went for a light lunch, we found a table but it had not been cleaned since the last people left and it was very busy, a nice young girl came and wiped it for us when we called her. I was waiting at the bar and the same girl saw me waiting and took the order and remembered the table number. When the food came it was the same young girl again. Very good service, the food was well presented and hot and the beer was first class. Two lunches and drinks for under twenty quid.
Its a nice place/pub for hang outs, I and my girls have been to this place twice now and I'm sure we will come back again. It's always packed, the services are fast and staffs are nice. The interior is spaced out and it accommodates everyone without you bumping into each other. I like their menu. My one problem is that, I ordered scampi, when it arrived and open the first one, it dripped out water, so my guess it, they just tossed it frozen into the microwave or oven and served it, which isn't nice at all.
We visited the Square Bottle on Sunday 12th December. Myself Alan and Liz was looking forward to a nice lunch. Apart from Liz ,Alan and I was really disappointed with the quality of our burgers .my chicken burger was really dry and some of the chips on my plate was under cooked. Alan's burgers wasn't great either. Alan loves burgers and was expecting a delicious juicy burger. What he got was a dry tasteless burger the cheese on top of it looked in edible. Alan left most of the burger. I know spoons is cheap and cheerful but this food wasn't great. The pub itself was pleasant and the staff polite and friendly. Just on this occasion the food was of a poor standard
Tip of the day. If you know there's an event on which has been publicized for months. It maybe a good idea to have more staff. Instead of 1 person for bar and one person for app. This result in people waiting at least 10-15 !?minutes to be served. Even your locals were waiting. Key part of management is to be prepared which the square bottles manager was not. Then the length of food wait wasn't great due to there being only two food waitresses to clean and delivery food. Not the servers fault, the managers. Also if you look at photo. Toast is not only like bread but they clearly have not cleaned any cooking equipment as this black stuff is on my toast.
Visited the square botlle and ordered a mixed grill. Food was delicious although the steak was a bit undercooked. Spoke to the staff and they offered me a free pint of Stella for the inconvenience which I gladly accepted. Would recommend
Awesome selection of very tasty food and drinks and great prices!
Fast ,good service, but 5 chicken supposed look much bigger for £9 with drink
Typical 'Spoons: breakfast wrap was good, coffee excellent value especially if you have 3! and pretty good for a machine. Friends arrived, went on to Ruddles @ £1.59/pint and a jolly afternoon was had by all. Lost a star due to one failure in the app ordering system for which the otherwise excellent staff were most apologetic.
Love Wetherspoons but large breakfast was a bit of a let down. Very busy but got served at bar quickly. Big queues for coffee machines. Food took a while to arrive and was pretty cold. 2 sausages, 2 fried eggs were hard not at all runny, 4 half slices of toast, 3 hash browns. Bacon was thin and tiny but tasted lovely and tiny amount of beans which were tasteless anyway. Oh and a small mushroom. So a mixed bag but quality left a bit to be desired. 6/10 for the food.
Spoons service with an app. Working from the pub before my train, ordered from app to table while I could take conference calls from the decent WiFi while not having g to leave my belongings until I needed the loo, nice and friendly staff and the venue was warm. The toilets are tired but they were clean.
