Lunch Reindeer Hoveringham After a little delay we managed to try their first food service. We sampled a selection of the small plates on the menu. Cornish Crab & smacked cucumber Toastie. The pic says it all. Possibly the best toastie ever Cod cheek scampi with a very tasty saffron aioli. Gochujang inside out chicken wings & pickles. Predict this will be a best seller. Black pudding Scotch egg with homemade 'HP' We will definitely return to try more of the delicious looking menu. Even got to meet their New Executive Chef Michael Carr #Gastropub
Stunning food. Beautiful pork belly and a lovely pint fro. The blue monkey brewery. Wife was mistaken on her order as she thought it was. A salad, it wasn't but the kitchen adapted their dish and made her a stunning stilton salad. Great portions, cozy fire place. Highly recommend the black pudding scotch egg for starter
Revamped village pub. Now busy, gastropub. Excellent food - upmarket pub food with a twist. Not a village pub anymore, but taken the necessary changes to survive. Excellent outlook onto cricket pitch.
our meals last night were delicious. well presented, very tasty, and ably served. the team are extremely pleasant and efficient. light, bright and modern restaurant. definitely going back.
Excellent chicken pie, with a fancier name. Small portion of mash. Very good sticky toffee pudding. Reasonable price. Good service and a pleasant room.
January 2023 visit Upon arrival, you may find it easier to park on the street side rather than the private parking as space is limited. I would call this a restaurant with a small bar area, with food well above typical pub quality. Well appointed interior with log burner making the space nice and warm. You can expect to pay around 20£ for a main and 6£ for a drink. I would recommend to a friend.
Slow service with average food. Fish and chips were nice however a £33 for a standard sirloin steak and not a large selection of food on the menu. Atmospehere cramped and very noisy
Very friendly, lovely Interior, the food looked amazing though we only wanted a drink and there was only 1 or 2 tables free where no-one was eating at in the bar area. It was very cold.
Very nice particularly the outside space on a sunny day, overlooking the cricket green Has had a refurb semi-recently and a little more upmarket than I remember from a few years ago. Staff are good and a nice pint
My wife and I popped in during a dog walk and had a lovely stay. Ended up buying lunch too as it all sounded so tasty! Didn’t disappoint. Great welcome from Adam the new landlord. We’ll definitely be back.
