I haven't been to The Little John Inn, in Ravenshead for a long time. My husband and I went for lunch. We were shown to our table and given the menu. The room was nicely decorated and bright. The menu was great lots of choice. The meal it self was well cooked. The waitress was friendly, she was very busy. We shall return, very good.
A little way out for us but worth the trip. The staff are really friendly and always have a warm welcome. The food is very tasty and always well presented, my only criticism would be that their website is out dated so some menu items are different to the website. That said the food is really nice and everyone in our party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we weren't rushed at all to leave the table, so a great relaxed evening with friends, we will definitely be back
Popped in for a meal and drinks on Saturday after hearing of new management taking over. From the greeting to the desserts was very enjoyable. The restaurant and bar seemed very busy when we visited, and this reflected on the waiting times. However we cannot fault the meal or our young waitress who seemed to be working incredibly hard. I'm looking forward visiting again as I think based on this evening the little john team could bring some pub spark back to the area.
Called here today on a spur of the moment decision. My wife being colieac usually struggles to find many options but we were pleasantly surprised to find the hunters chicken was available and safe. I ordered the liver dish. Service took longer than expected with over a half hour wait but the food when it arrived was fantastic, we've already decided to return to give it another chance and hoping to get food quicker this time around. Proper old pub which is rare these days and a great find.
Just have had a blast at The Little John Inn was looking for a place to chill out after a long drive and this place is awesome. Cannot fault it in anyway. Parking, gardens the welcome are first class and the food is at the next level 5 star plus. Definitely recommend this to all
We visited the other week and my partner and son were served raw belly pork. I hadn't noticed until we came home, my son wanted to crisp it up in the airfryer. Sent the owner a photo of it, who then told me that it wasn't raw. The dog enjoyed it though. Also had elements of my dinner missing as well, which I realised on the way home. My partner said it was the worst belly pork he'd had, but being polite and new owners didn't say anything. Very expensive for the quality of good served.
We decided to celebrate my daughter's birthday here. It was a very disappointing evening. There was no bacon for the burger, no lasagne and no fish pie. Then we waited a long time for the food. Then we waited a further 45 mins before I had to ask some one to take our dessert order. Two of the desserts were unavailable. It still took ages for them to arrive and when did they were almost cold. It was very expensive for a very average meal and the whole evening was a let down.
We visited for dinner last week with our son and daughter, the staff were very helpful on arrival and showed us to our table. The food came out quite quick and the soup was very tasty. The main courses were also very good and the request for my daughter was accommodated with no problem.
We vistied this beautifull pub the other week for Sunday lunch and must say I love what sandeep and dan the new owners are doing with the place ! the sunday roast was amazing and the portions we all really good sizes, the homemade cheesecake was just devine and certaintly went down a treat, Tracy who I beleive is the manager was fabulous and made us feel very welcome and looked after us througout our stay Im really looking forward to visting the little john for their indian nights and also there quiz nights in the future 100% would recommend this pub to any one in the area or passing you will not be disapointed, can not wait for our next vist we will Definitely be back, keep us the good work !
Went for Sunday lunch today for a family birthday, the staff were lovely and friendly but the food poor. The lamb was a high percentage of white blubbery fat, the vegetables undercooked and very hard. The rest of the plate was at best luke warm, they did offer a change of meat which was accepted but didnt take my plate away and just brought pork on a side plate. We also didn't get the table we'd booked and to finish off the coffee machine was broken so couldn't get a coffee. Very disappointing . Won't be going again
