Excellent early lunch. Enjoyed it very much food was great and the staff were great. Friendly and helpful. Did a great job. All food was off the lunchtime menu. Which is great value
Very nice cosy pub, good atmosphere and very nice staff! Food was delicious, will come back for more! Loads of options from a grill and deserts are simply amazing!
I travel a bit in my job and try out new things. Out of all the pub/ restaurants I’ve been, Magna Charta is a must visit. Clean, helpful and hard working staff. Holly and Jordan were very good and took pride in their job. The young guy at the bar was also helpful as I was lost, considering what I needed was right next to me. The food was great and the fish and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce was amazing. Very nice place to eat.
Great atmosphere here, and quite a varied menu. I had booked for another pub, which, after eating there a couple of days before, was really poor, but prompted me to try the Magna Charta. My patina was excellent, and my friends burger was exceptional .. we were looked after well by waiting staff. Unfortunately the 3 coffees we ordered weren't piping hot. And our other friend wasn't overly impressed with her garlic mushrooms. But mine was brilliant, well priced, well presented. Will definitely go again.
Friendly and helpful staff. The beer seems well kept - no complaints there. The lighting, layout and decor creates a modern but bland and characterless ambience - family-friendly and inoffensive, but not enticing. As for the food: well, to be honest, it's below average for the money. The steak pie I had was very dry, with lots of pastry and not much meat, and it was served with an absurdly tiny amount of gravy - perhaps half an inch in the bottom of a small round dish. I left most of the pastry. On another occasion I had one of their burgers, and it was OK, but no better than countless mass-produced burgers you can get in any cheap eatery, and certainly well below par for the money. If you fancy a burger, you'd be better going to McDonalds and paying half the money. Two of my friends had the chicken salad and they tell me it was very good, so maybe you should stick to that. In summary: very good staff; good beer; below average food especially at that price; family-friendly but characterless.
Overall the pub is average with no frill from the food to the staff. We went on a fairly quiet Saturday but it still took over half an hour to get someone to serve you. Food arrived and it was average I had the mixed grill and then waited another 20 minutes for the plates to be taken away. A staff member asked if we wanted desert to which we said yes then they never returned. In the end we got the bill and left. Overall I’d say the food and service is average or slightly below on the waiting times. There’s better pubs around that’s for sure.
It’s not the first time this has happened here we ordered 2 sirloin steaks one medium and one well done and a steak and kidney pie the pie was wonderful but the gravy was too thick then we started to eat the well done steak and it was full of blood red raw this was really off putting really and this happened 3 times now
We had our Christmas Dinner here. We were late booking and had to settle for the 12 o'clock sitting. On arrival we were shown to our table and allowed to get comfy and the Proseco was delivered. The menu checked, and the 3 course meal was served. Absolutely fantastic food, piping hot,, again we never felt rushed, drinks brought to the table. Great staff. Booked for next year. Thank you.
Good atmosphere and customer service. A tasty lunch meal.
I love this pub. It's got a lovely, relaxing vibe with great quality pub grub - with table service! They've got a great menu currently Greene King with lots of choices - there's something for everyone, even a a fussy eater like me. The food is great quality and the service is absolutely brilliant! There were 17 of us and I can't fault the level of service we received I had the 'Triple Choc Brownie Sundae' for dessert and it was to DIE FOR!!! Best ice cream sundae I've had in a really long time! It's not all that local to me so I don't get to go too often but it's always a top choice for our big family meals and I've loved it there everytime! I'd recommend this pub to anyone!
