I went to see Kiss Me Kate and it was an excellent show, a recording from a Barbican performance - starring Adrian Dunbar. The whole cast were outstanding as would be expected from a London theatre performance. However, in terms of the venue and that part of the experience - I was left with a negative impression. As the credits rolled - a part of the experience I wished to take in and not the cast and other crew members of the performance - the exit doors to the side and front of the auditorium were both opened by a Regent Centre volunteer/ staff member. This action was, on the coldest night of the year to date and very unwelcome and thoughtless act. We were still enjoying the soundtrack and taking in the credits and were sat with a sudden and most dramatic drop in temperature! I am glad to have the opportunity to comment on this visit. It was most certainly marred by this thoughtless act. We had not yet put our coats and scarves on and were hit by this icy blast!!! I fully intend to speak about this to management at the centre but have not yet been in the town when the centre has been open to do so. A little more thought, please for your patrons. There are other ways that an exit point can be made visible without flinging the patrons out in such a careless manner.
Great place to go and see tribute bands. Always something worth going to watch. Not an overly large venue but you can see the stage from any seat booked. Gets busy in the foyer during the interval. Very well organised.
Good traditional small theatre/cinema. Run by amazing people who make sure this venue stays valuable to the community. Easy to reach destination with several car parks nearby and on the main bus route.nEverything from cinema viewings, live stream events, community theatre, local shows and a traditional panto.
Been going to the Regent for YEARS! Always love when a star comes to visit the little town! Sally Morgan was great as per usual and it’s so love that everyone gets involved!
Coffee prices last week £1.50 for one size, £2.00 for slightly bigger cup. Today it's £ 3.00. How do you justify that? Has Queer Kier Starmer put you up to this?. Its not as if its the most comfortable theatre about.
