Pavilion Dance South West

About

Pavilion Dance South West is a registered charity (1111641) dedicated to transforming communities though dance.

Story

Pavilion Dance South West is a dance development organisation with a local venue, a strategic regional remit, national significance and international reach.
We work across the whole of the South West region with a network of partner organisations and artists to develop dance as an art form, support artists and engage with audiences.
At Pavilion Dance, our venue in Bournemouth, we present live performances with the potential to entertain, excite, move and challenge. It is work we believe in, by artists with exciting, creative and fresh approaches to dance and movement.
We also run over 40 weekly dance and movement classes.
We operate in partnership with Arts Council England, Bournemouth Borough Council and BH Live and are proud to be an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO).

Mission

We celebrate and encourage dance nationally, building strong local and regional partnerships to connect it to a diverse and broad public through excellent performance and participation opportunities.

Went to watch circus of horrors. Easy enough to get in. Seats don't give you much leg room but was a nice old theatre
We went recently to see a friend in a performance. Excellent studio with so many different dance classes and it even has a bar.
I love Bournemouth especially in the summer there is so much to do, equally go and see the Christmas trees...
Amazing funny evening watching the Snow White panto, it was hilarious
A beautiful place, one of the few true pavilions left anywhere on earth and while 3 stars seems mean for this amazing place and the brilliant staff who run, maintain and police it but, yes a "but", it's very painful to sit in and enjoy the shows I've seen there. The seats are tiny, from a time when most folk were smaller, and the toilets are miles away especially if you happen to be 6 foot five and disabled. Parking is very good for an original Georgian holiday resort, access to and from the place is easy as pie compared to Brighton or Scarborough, there area plastered with bars and cafes for pre show appetites, disabled parking is second to none but I couldn't relax inside, it hurt. We booked months before just to get an easy access seat but the whole quadrant for disabled was unavailable for absolutely no reason and empty FFS! I had to wait untill the show started to sneak into three empty seats. Lots to love about the place yet the whole experience hurt me again. Opinions will vary and here's my sixpence worth. Slap and a kiss, nice but hurt. Cheers.
Great night out watching Back into hell
Great night, faster love George Michael tribute, including original band that worked and toured with him.
Wonderful memories created at the Snow White 2023 pantomime. Such a warm atmosphere throughout. Can't wait to see another show there soon
Staff are warm, friendly, and helpful. Very clean. I did not go to a show or a class.
Lovely theatre. Could do with a bit of it updating but that does add to its charm. Everything is well organised and the shows have been fantastic
