Why does Google always ask me to review car parks? Is anyone interested. Gets 2 stars because it causes issues for the lovely gardens above. And anyway, I didn't really visit the car park. Just the compost bin in the NW corner.
It maybe atop an underground car park but what is most amazing about this place is that it's a picnic ground away from the crowded beach front. Even on really busy, sunny days, one can find this place near empty. I chilled here twice as I was attending a few Fringe shows. Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet!
One of the more expensive options however car has always been safe, great service if you lose your ticket. And I know exactly where it is so easy to get to. Only Downside is when you leave and are attempting to turn left. The crossing lights can be on red without you seeing them.
The location is top and right in front of the beach but the prices are horrible.n5£ /hour weekdays and 5.50£/hour weekends is too much.nThe parking spots are also very tight.
This is an odd car park for multiple reasons. It's not quite city centre, and it's kinda back to ftont. the entrance is at the far end of the square, away from the seafront, heavy security doors open, the ticket machine dispenses a receipt with a q-code, and the car barrier lifts. Immediately apparent is that the car park area is only half of the expected area, vert small, only on driving around 3 sides of a square is there a downward slope to zone 2. Another square and another downward slope, and zone 3 is the size expected of the previous floors as it is double the size of the upper floors and it stretches all the way to the seafront end of the square. [Customers should note that the pedestrian exit is all the way at the far end of the lowest level, zone 3. Park near the entrance and it's a long way to walk to the exit.]nBlue badge spaces and electric charge spaces are available closest to the exit. Security gates give pedestrians access to the wrong side of the main road, the Regency restaurant speciality: fish, and foot crossings to the promenade, almost at the base of the i360 doughnut on a pole. Returning to the car park, Scanning your receipt code will open the security gates, the payment machines are just inside the doors. Cost is charged by length of time betweenentranceandexit, and is specific to each vehicle. the exit gates are operated by the Automatic Number plate reading system - assuming you've paid at the machines when walking in at the pedestrian entrance- otherwise you'll be stuck in your car at the hefty and closed unopening barriers, and have to get out of your vehicle to pay at the machines much to the amused hoots and unamused tutting of the vehicles stuck behind you.nSecurity is up the wazoo, always clean, not ideal for city centre shopping and somewhat more expensive than expected - even for Brighton - although still less than the criminally extortionate North laine and theatre multi-story car parks.
