Story

The Reform Club is a private members club on the south side of Pall Mall in central London. As with all London's original gentlemen’s clubs, it comprised an all-male membership for decades, but was the first to change its rules to include the admission of women on equal terms in 1981. Since its founding, the Reform Club has been the traditional home for those committed to progressive political ideas, with its membership initially consisting of Radicals and Whigs. However, today it is no longer associated with any particular political party, and now serves a purely social function."The Reform" (as it is known in common parlance) currently enjoys extensive reciprocity with similar clubs around the world; and attracts a significant number of foreign members, such as diplomats accredited to the Court of St. James's. Of the current membership of around 2700, some 500 are overseas members, and over 400 are women.History19th centuryThe club was founded in 1836 by Edward Ellice, Member of Parliament (MP) for Coventry and Whig Whip, whose riches came from the Hudson's Bay Company but whose zeal was chiefly devoted to securing the passage of the Reform Act 1832. This new club, for members of both Houses of Parliament, was intended to be a forum for the radical ideas which the First Reform Bill represented: a bastion of liberal and progressive thought that became closely associated with the Liberal Party, who largely succeeded the Whigs in the second half of the 19th century.

Very enjoyable experience. Beautiful building - so much history. Excellent dining. Staff excellent. Looking forward to my next visit
One of the best London clubs Very good food and service. They make you feel very welcome.
Just watched them refuse entry to Michael Palin again after he travelled round the world in 79 days.
Excellence, unforgettable experience
Incredible classic 19th century "gentlemen's club" with spectacular interiors. I went on a tour led by a very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic guide who told many stories of the club's history and her time as a member.
Getting from strength to strength, a great discreet place for wine lovers, plenty of social events, food has some very good highlights such as the daily trolley and there is an incredible buzz about the new bar opening. 5 star as prices are also incredible considering you are a few steps between trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Station.
Fascinating club with beautiful architecture and history. Old celebrity and Army chef Alexis being my favourite. Very inclusive as one of the first to accept woman in 1981. Wonderful tour by the reverent.
Definitely a symbol of prestige and elegance. The staff are very friendly and diligent. Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere.
Hard to get into, but worth every second of a visit. Have you read "Around the world in 80 days"? The bet had happened in this Club! And its library was the model for the one in Highclere Castle - featured in Downton Abbey. Classy!
Just beautiful!! Excellent service and gorgeous place!!
