Every room that the club offers, provides a different vibe all together. The meeting lounge area is great to meet people for coffee, pastries and have a lovely catchup. Then you can move onto the pub which offers beer, wine, cocktails and port, great place to do pre drinks before lunch or post lunch. The dining room offers amazing food and wine and some of the best table service I have ever seen. If you have the opportunity to go, don't hesitate!
The Oxford and Cambridge club is so amazing! The atmosphere exudes class, history and culture. The interiors are very nice, wooden, the furniture is so nice as well, as with the food. The staff were very welcoming, polite and really made us feel special. It is always an absolute treat when we are invited! The little rooftop is such a great little treat for some fresh air.
Came here as a guest of a friend to play squash, so can only comment on the bits that I saw or interacted with. The person at the front was so incredibly polite and helpful. The club itself is very stylish and looks lovely. The squash courts themselves are well maintained and have a great feel. The club house we had lunch in afterwards was also very well decorated and the food was delicious.
The Princess Marie Louise room is one of the finest in London. The bar is nice, but is let down by women who ignore the dress regulations E.G. no denim while the male members are too gentlemanly to complain. Club staff are universally smart, courteous and efficient.
Just like being back at college. Smart dress code for the evening is required, but you would anyway for a formal. Fantastic bar and dinner service. Excellent regular, vegetarian and vegan menu options with huge portions and extensive drinks/wine menu. Don't miss it if you get the chance. A great venue for our reunion.
Very nice club but they require a tie and were a bit stiff. Food was very good. Beautiful inside. Very nice business area to work in.
A lovely establishment. Lovely serving staff, elaborate decor. Quiet outdoor seating areas. Reciprocal membership to many other private clubs internationally. Excellent accommodation in central london.
We are staying here a member of the University Club of Chicago. Beware...tons of small narrow steps to tbe rooms, as much as 20! They put us in a room with no AC on a super hot day. Tiny bathroom... not comfortable at all. So disappointed!!
Don't get sucked into membership. The club used to be good value with decent food and long-standing staff but membership fees have increased by a multiple of inflation every year. Fees are much higher if you want to pay monthly and not a full year in advance. If you make the mistake of missing a monthly payment monthly direct debit is not an option, only annual you are then hit with a 25% fine and threatened to be publicly exposed as a bad payer on a sign in the club! The quality of the food has decreased over the last decade despite increasing in price by about 100% Drinks are now all more expensive then in a pub, even during happy hour. There use to be good value Club Claret and Champagne. There have not been any high profile speakers at the lunch events for several years. Just obscure lectures about Eastern Europe politics and Moldovan wine testing or other nonsense...
Impressive venue, especially given its prestige. Very good selection of drinks and good service. Not very busy though.
