Our son had his tonsils and adenoids out here. While we did have some issues with rudeness from the administrative staff, I must say the rest of the staff were excellent. When we got to the hospital, we found it to be clean and well-signposted. All of the nurses, surgeons and anaesthetists were kind and respectful. They explained our son's operation to us very clearly and told us what to look out for when giving after care. Obviously, there are some issues but there are still good people working here and that needs to be recognised too.
I had a positive experience at Queen's Hospital.nI would to thank the ENT specialist team who were fast and effective in treating me. They considered the approach that involved minimal risks. Also, the nurses from Ocean ward and the receptionist from Same Day Emergency who were friendly and welcoming. They all do vital work which is appreciated.
So after waiting 9 months finally got an appointment to remove a BCC from my scalp.nTwo lovely receptionist in minor surgery 1st floor/Blue Zone efficient & had all files.nQuickly taken to curtained area where everything was explained & all details taken.nConsultant said hello & asked if I had any questions or concerns.nJunior doctor also popped in to introduce himself.nQuickly taken to surgery room which was spotlessly clean & all staff just seamed to know what they were doing & so nice.nTaken back to area for water & biscuit with all clothes safely returned. Paperwork completed & medication explained & received.nI have to say with all the negative comments it really was 10/10 for me personally.nI feel people only ever write when things go wrong so wanted to put some positive vibes back out there.
My father is currently in Harvest B and the level of care is shocking, He has been left in dirty nappies, not given fluids and the nurses don't follow doctors orders for treatment, saying they don't have time with one nurse complaining about pay. My dog gets better treatment. I would honestly do anything I could to avoid having a loved one treated here.
My father was in Queens Hospital in Sahara B Ward from 18 November 2024 for 2 months and received fantastic care from the doctors, the wonderful nursing staff, the physios and the administrators. I cannot thank them enough. We are hugely grateful to all the staff in Sahara B Ward - for their amazing care and their good humour, sometimes in quite difficult situations. Also thank you to the cleaning staff - everywhere was spotless. My father moved into Sahara A ward for a short time which was also very good and then to a rehab centre and finally home, where is doing very well. We are so very, very grateful to the hospital and all those working in the NHS.
