I was rushed to hospital due to the amount of pain I’m in after loosing my baby early.nI got to queens hospital at 3:10 on 06/11/24nI was a new patient at goodmayes hospital….nnAfter 4 hrs of waiting screaming in pain the doctors prescribed me morphine and other pain killers and medication without seeing me or assessing me! Just based off my pain and what the nurse describednnAfter 21 hours I was seen by the doctor and that’s because a staff from goodmayes applied pressure and heard me screaming of pain on the phonennThe doctor I saw asked me a few questions booked me in for scans and so on and gave me more medication for the pain……nnThe problem I have with this hospital is number 1 because I’m a psyc patient they didn’t take me serious! I was offered benzodiazepines and the doctor who was Muslim and had a scarf said “it is pain relief it will help”nThey honestly think people in a psych ward are mad ? Did she think I was stupid??nI literally work in the health sector ….nI lost my baby leading me into depression and goodmayes does not mean I’m stupid!nnI wanted 21 hours to be seen by a doctornThey did an ultrasound and a CT scannThey did not bother to look down my private part one of the places that hurt since I had a miscarriagenThey did not bother to refer me to Gyne according to the doctors it’s not a gyne problem”nnI was discriminated due to my current situation of being in a mental health hospital…nnNurses were there chatting away about their life and other patients whilst I was right there on the bed in the HALLEAY Crying in pain!nnAfter 26 hours I’m still in the corridors of HDU not on a ward nothing !nnThey only had sandwich to offer patients who don’t have a cubical or bed on the ward !nSo if your in the hallway for days, you only get sandwich’s morning afternoon and evening!!!!nnThis hospital should be shut down!nYess they have specialists and etc but the staff don’t carennI even overheard a few staff complaining about the hospital and how they hate it there !!nnIf they hate working there how are we supposed to get the best treatment???nnApart from the fact I lost my baby earlynI am not a mental health patientnI am a normal young healthy womannnAnd they way I was treated was so unfairnI have videos and pictures and I will escalate this when I’m physically and emotionally available and better .nnI’m still in pain and nothing was solved !!nThis is a gynaecology issue!!nAt least check my insides !!nnI was bleeding and small blood clots are coming out !nnI left self discharged and took myself to goodmayesnnUpdate: I was in a lot of pain today and was rushed back to queens by ambulance and the staff with glasses in the picture below was like “ahh she’s back again from goodmayes, take her somewhere else or put her in the Abel to sit waiting area…nI was there sitting screaming in pain no one offered a bed for me to lay on!nnBearing in mind I was in a lot of pain as in couldn’t walk and was screaming type of pain!nnThe matron in goodmayes hospital was appalled and the nurse’s attitude!nnI was sitting in a&e nd because they claim they can’t see anything they just left me to cry in pain!nnThis hospital is awful I cannot believe how they treated me tbhnIt’s so sad they can see me as a MHP and say horrible stuff and show no carennNHS DO BETTER !nQUEEN HOSPITALS RUN ,RUN ,RUN from themnnAnd ps the spoon they gave me was dirty !nPls do not use hospital cutlery guys it was literally disgusting and nasty the state of the spoon that was given !nI didn’t even eat the yogurt in the end
Waited 6 hours the previous night with my daughter @ A&E to get nothing. Were booked for the next day ultrasound @ 9 am . All good , did the ultrasound one hour after…but waited 4 hours for the doctor to read the results…. Outrageous… and the way they don’t care and don’t give a time. On the board was given 44 minutes waiting time…when I pointed that out.. they changed it but with just a bit… still was not reflecting the reality
I recently had an experience at Queens Hospital that I feel compelled to share. While I understand that healthcare settings can be challenging, there were several significant issues during our stay that need to be addressed.nn1. **Medication Errors**: Unfortunately, there were two instances where my wife's medication was administered incorrectly. This is a serious concern as it not only affects patient safety but also raises questions about the hospital's protocols for medication administration.nn2. **Cleanliness of Facilities**: I was disappointed to find that the toilets were not adequately maintained, with visible stains that included blood. This lack of cleanliness is unacceptable in a healthcare environment and can contribute to the spread of infections.nn3. **Staffing Shortages**: The shortage of medical staff was evident during our stay, leading to delays in the discharge process. My wife and baby were in stable condition, yet we experienced a prolonged wait for discharge, which added unnecessary stress to our experience.nnWhile I appreciate the efforts of the staff who were present, it’s clear that improvements are needed in several areas to enhance patient care and overall experience. I hope that my feedback will contribute to positive changes at Queens Hospital
A very busy hospital.nnThe very large car parks are normally overrun with vehicles, where even the double yellow lines are covered in cars.nnThe hospital itself is an interesting circular design and is full curved corridors. The disadvantage is that a lot of areas have no windows.nnYou will enter the hospital through a welcoming area with a good-sized Costa coffee and retail shops, and there is also a well stocked fruit stall just outside the main entrance. They even have a machine that will cook you a portion of chips nnThe staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. You really couldn't fault their care and dedication, I immediately felt at ease.
My mum who has dementia was taken in by ambulance today 23/12/24, with a suspected hip fracture. The care she received and the staff she came in contact with were amazing. We were there 8 hours, however all the necessary tests and paperwork were done more or less immediately. We had to wait for surgeons to discuss next steps, which took the longest but we understood.nnThe staff were kind and professional and mum was treated with dignity.nnThe 8 hour wait was due to corridors full of beds which were being brought in by ambulance and the management are to blame. They should close the doors, refuse more patients when it is critical and have the spine to stick with that decision. No change or investment in new centres will ever happen whilst the staff have to continue to work at unacceptable stress levels. We have lost St.George’s, Rush Green, Harold Wood hospitals, I am sure there are more, whilst the population continues to grow. That is the disgrace.
