Story

Language is central to almost all aspects of human life: communicating with each other; thinking and reasoning; creating social relations; passing on the thoughts, ideas and discoveries of the past to future generations. Linguistics is simply the study of language in all of its aspects. Here at Queen Mary, the newest London member of the Russell Group, we focus on both the nature of language (its structure, how it connects to thought, and to sound) and on its use (how it varies from person to person and situation to situation). Each of these different approaches complements the other. The Department was ranked first in the UK in the most recent research assessment exercise. It is consistently ranked within the top three in the UK for teaching and research.

We offer a single honours degree in English Language and Linguistics, and a number of joint degrees. We also offer an MA in Linguistics, and have a thriving PhD programme.

Graduation was successful, but there was no parking lots for guests .There is too much walking from a location to another , such as graduation area to photo shoots, etc, Overall, nice
Over all very good university. The tour Cordinator was very helpful.
No one says this is a real university. Why is that? What is QMU? It's a sham product from the ultra-wealthy, peddling the illusion of status. They target earnest, poor people who lack the information needed to make an informed choice. Look at the honest reviews; real, honest individuals are ALL saying the same thing. Across society, the ultra-wealthy deploy tactics designed to transfer money from the relatively poor to themselves. They don't care about the destruction caused to society or the lives they ruin. Their sole focus is winning their financial war. The ultra-wealthy are undermining the integrity of education worldwide, from kindergarten to post-graduate levels. They disregard the consequences to society and the quality of thousands of lives, each year, just at QMU. The real reviews tell the story. The truth is, the rich want more yachts. They're sociopathic. Thr homeless me s little help from everyone, and occasionally steal bread out of need. The rich manipulate good people into buying their no-good promises, and steal not just our fortunes but our lives. This is akin to Donald Trump's failed Trump 'university.' QMU is an especially cheap product. They barely even pretend to offer an education. Who teaches? No one. The only people they have on staff are not educational or subject experts - the staff are intended only to trick poor individuals into believing this is a legitimate school. It's almost refreshing to see how consistently every real reviewer says the same thing about QMU. Though QMU is a particularly egregious example, many other universities are similar, just not as poorly disguised. Boycott all of these institutions. Learn to identify ploys like QMU's, designed by the rich to steal money from communities. Help others recognize these manipulative tactics and build skills to avoid falling victim to them. We must support real schools that are genuine nonprofits, run by real educators. Help others avoid becoming victims of the rich. The ultra-wealthy are pariahs who take every last quid, cent, rupee, rial, and peso they can and transfer it into their exclusive luxury worlds, fast away from the 99%. This also highlights the need to distrust reviews and RANKINGS, which can be manipulated by the business class with their endless appetite for money from the masses. Boycott such institutions. Our society belongs to us more than it does to them. Do not let it be ruined by their deceptive, cynical, and amoral contempt for 99% of humanity. These are the same people ruining our world elsewhere. Avoid working for people like this and do all you can to expose them. The positive reviews are paid for. QMU is a sham product, peddled by the predatory business class. Most reviewers consistently say the same thing: it's a sparkly design masking a very cheap product with no genuine "customer service." How shameful.
One of the best university in London Excellent staff Teachers Site is clean tidy and safe 10/10
Spent the best three years of my life . I studied Biomedical Sciences and I subsequently started a PhD in AI in healthcare thanks to the connections, support and training offered by this university. Qmul has excellent teaching staff and great facilities! A very nice campus! Really a great university!
The university has granted degrees with DISTINCTIONS to hooligans like HEMANTH PANEER SELVAM, the STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE of QMUL mathematical sciences, who not only plagiarised their degrees but ganged up on me with friends to threaten me in public areas and inside my flat to prevent me from disclosing any information about his activities. There is clear evidence of this in the police records.
9 Nobel Laureate from QMUL. This tells everything about high standards of research and education at QMUL. Also one of the biggest student campus in or near central London region
Great University to study at, the teachers are specialists providing great knowledge, the facilities are superb and as a Masters student the Graduate Centre rooftop study area has some of the most amazing views across London, which is pretty cool whilst working on projects. One downside is the attitude from senior management towards lecturer's and teachers I've witnessed, which is unacceptable as strikes had to be continued throughout the academic year disrupting students experiences and the teachers welfare. The Uni does feel like it's being run as a corporate business too much, where students and staff have felt this continuously. This should not be the case as the Uni makes a great amount of money, so staff should feel appreciated and listened to. Overall, I've studied in a different London university previously and have experienced different campuses, however I must say QMUL is one of the best in London and would recommend to anyone as you do feel richer in knowledge from studying here.
For MSc Big Data Science, I would only give it one star. Waste of money and time. Easiest distinction in my life. Anyone thinking about coming to UK and spend all their money into this to rethink. You can do this far less expensive than this and more practical. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME... I wouldn't recommend Digital Media and Social Networks due to the disastrous group project experience. My mentor disappeared halfway through the project, and I had to work with two non-programmers who had no fundamental knowledge of Python. Also english is a massive barrier here. I was disappointed with Applied Statistics because it was no different from what I had already learned during my undergraduate studies at QMUL!. The only difference is you write in R programming, but hey, we just copy the code from the notes and just change the parameters to answer most the MCQ. Exams question were the same as the previous 5 years and identical. Big Data Processing was also a huge letdown. The server was down for weeks, which prevented us from accessing the file systems. It lacks practical skills, I wrote basic hadoop/pyspark commands for the MCQ and achieve 100% coursework that weigh 40% lol. Also, coursework was the same as previous cohort. I could go on about every module, but I would exceed my word limits. My perspective on pursuing a Master's degree has changed since completing my course at QMULI expected a master's level to be a bit more challenging than a normal undergraduate degree. This wasn't the case. This needs to change if they want to deliver high-quality candidates. The course seems to be tailor to international student. How can you be a data scientist from this rubbish?
As an MSc Astrophysics student, I am enjoying my time here at the moment. I think they have an excellent Physics faculty. Happy to be a student here. Hoping to graduate soon. Edit: I have now graduated! :
