Hackney Community College
"We are the largest college in east London, formed by a merger in 2016 of Hackney Community College with Tower Hamlets College and then in spring 2017 with Redbridge College. Be assured though, that whilst we have increased in size and scale, we retain our strong local identities and our campuses in each borough, continuing to provide a strong choice of courses for our communities. Our Hackney campus is located in Hoxton, in a vibrant part of London close to business, design and technology hubs. Our students really love studying here and we hope you will too!"

I visited several colleges and providers to find what is suitable for my son. And I did this after a very bad experience that I had at the B&D College. I attended the Open Day Event today in Ardleigh Green Campus. Congratulations to the organizers. Everything was well organized, easy to gather information, very well structured. Compared to the previous experience in B&D College, the difference is huge and clearly positive for New City College. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, the ambience of a committed academic environment. The best feedback I received was from my son, a person with special needs, who, to express that he wanted to go there, copied himself the whole application form I filled out for him first. His application form copy is a confirmation of his desire. This is in a situation it is quiet difficult for him to concentrate on any activity for more than 25 minutes. I have a great deal of confidence in his decision. For today, "Chapeau" New City College
Complete waste of my time. Incompetent Administration is a compliment in this instance. Education establishments should be punished and penalised for messing people about and supplying false information which affects students education and work. Maybe they might start to become more organised. Until then they will probably remain useless and incompetent.
As a new student at New City College, I wanted to express my appreciation for the warm welcome and the fantastic experience I've had so far. The teachers and staff have been incredibly helpful, making my transition into college life smooth. The library has proven to be a valuable resource for my studies, and the food services have been a pleasant surprise.I look forward to my journey as a student at New City College and am grateful for the positive start to my college life.
“The foundation to every successful ‘workplace’ is to priotise staff wellbeing and promote their hard work.” Not only does New City College miserably fail to do this, they do not care for their staff especially support staff. This is evident in the number of staff leaving, staff are leaving one after the other like dominos, people will be shocked if they see how many staff have left particularly at the Hackney campus till this day today. Majority of the staff you see now are all new. They don’t even have a staff room, well-being room, and lunch runs out way before a staff can even go on lunch. The lunch itself is also very limited one piece of chicken per staff/ a table spoon of gravy some senior staff have also experienced this. The staff toilets are absolutely disgusting. Majority of The Senior Management Team are very careless including the CEO himself. The CEO worries more about a faulty TV in campus rather than staff well-being. It's honestly hard to believe that the management of an educational establishment could treat their staff this way.
This is the best college I have ever been to. If you are really serious about your future and are looking for a college to go to, then this is the place. All my teachers have been great. They are always available and will push you to finish the course with a good grade and a good attendance. Good attendance is a must. Do all your homeworks and read, read and read is a must. I am thankful that I am now going to university to study Adult nursing. I will never forget this College and my teachers. May God bless them all.
Disorganised, unprofessional, unresponsive. Be mindful as you may waste a lot of your valuable time and money earning a simple qualification which shouldn't take nearly as long as it does for this institution. I am constantly chasing after staff to get a simple response. Sometimes I forget that I am the student as it feels like I am dealing with children rather than grown adults. It's impossible to even raise your concerns without staff members feeling instantly victimised and not taking any accountability for their responsibilities. Single handedly, the worst decision of my entire life was to study at this college. There are far better institutions which will more than likely offer the course that you are after. It's unfortunate that I can't give a 0 star rating. The one star is for the security on campus, very vibrant, friendly and professional.
I am currently studying Maths and I couldn't ask for a better teacher than Mr Motin. I have had private lessons in the past with professors, been taught in schools in the past and still never understood maths. Mr Motin was born to teach mathematics. A specialist in his field who breaks down mathematics to a point of understanding. He goes above and beyond for every student and won't stop until everyone in the class understands. I have gained so much knowledge in so little time, and it's all down to our wonderful teacher. Thank you Mr Motin.
If you choose to study a free distance learning course, don't use this college as a funding provider. I signed up for a Level 2 course via Reed and used this college to cover the funding costs. I requested for extra time due to personal circumstances and was granted this by my tutor. Despite being given extra time, I had no idea how much I was entitled to as normally when you study, you would be told this + given the new deadlines. I kept e-mailing my tutor about this issue and there was no response from them; it also didn't help that there was no phone number for the tutor. I also e-mailed the info team who kept saying they would follow up with my query, again no response. Because of my circumstances, I chose to quit the course. The communication at NCC is abhorrent as everytime you have a query, you would be redirected to several departments who don't respond to you. As for the actual withdrawal of the course, this is also a difficult process as the student support team barely respond and also have a phone number which is incorrect. You also have to pay withdrawal fees of over £100 if you don't finish the course. All this college cares about is making money off you.
DO NOT GO … teachers say rude and offensive words.. no support in the way you need. Some of the courses don’t teach everything in that course. You do amazing all year round when you make one little mistake they penalise you. Will NOT BE Send any of my children their absolute joke never again
