Tower Hamlets College
"We are the largest college in east London, formed by a merger in 2016 of Hackney Community College with Tower Hamlets College and then in spring 2017 with Redbridge College. Be assured though, that whilst we have increased in size and scale, we retain our strong local identities and our campuses in each borough, continuing to provide a strong choice of courses for our communities. At Tower Hamlets, our focus is on preparing and driving students forward to the next stage of their career journey. Whether that is to go to university or into work, our courses are designed to help students achieve their full potential."

I am one of the students of New city college but I came this week to apply for a new course. I met this manager called Jenny Ritchie who was not nice to me. She is a very bad manager and she has no understanding and she is always angry all the time. She shouts a lot every time i try to talk to her. She does not give you a chance to talk or to explain anything. I don't know where she thinks she is in, a farm?! She is a very sick manager and I don't know why she is even in that position when she will not even let you learn. She is not ready to give young students a chance to aspire to their futures and get their dreams. I think she needs to go to the hospital because she is not normal and her respect is really bad. She is not human and her behaviour is atrocious and her attitude is even more atrocious. Do not waste your time with this so-called woman. She misjudges people for what is based online. So don't waste your time on this recked woman.
I would advise anyone looking to enroll at New City College, Tower Hamlets to reconsider their options. This institution is far from being a suitable learning environment. The security personnel are impolite and appear to be ill-prepared for their roles. The college is old, and it shows in its poor maintenance and unclean facilities. To make matters worse, the academic staff seems to underestimate the capabilities of their students, leading to a lack of encouragement and support. It's no exaggeration to say that attending this college may negatively affect your mental health. In conclusion, I strongly advise avoiding New City College, Tower Hamlets at all costs.
This is just a terrible place! Run from there. Security, like in a prison camp, will tell you where to stand, where to breathe, where not to stand. This is what they call England. Just sadists. Circle guarantee. I was personally yelled at by a security guard and another boss told me to shut up when I pointed out their sociopathic behavior. I think if there are such guards and management is also like that. I rate it minus 1 below zero.
The College Management Team and Security Guard doesn't know how to follow the Humanities Law, how to treat Disable learners or visitors. Concerns about what they would be teach for DWP Clients or Students. So rude, cruel and inhumane attitude. Sequrity Guard didn't allowed me to used toilet. He started calling different different other Sequrity Guard and Office stuff whereas they seen I am Disable. I requested them very nicely and explained that I am waiting for my Gallstones Surgery. My Bladder issues. It was really urgent to got toilet access and my Liver, kidneys, Bladder pain started. Freezing cold and cold wind made seriously Bowl pressure. But hard to found disability rights or kindness. Didn't I knew that Toilet wasn't for Public, yes definitely i knew. I have been spoken with Course and Career Tutor, Reception aswell. She went inside for given me next Courses Registration info. I was International Student and I have been all around UK's Universities and colleges for admissions purposes. Excellent dedicated supportive Teams for learners. Very very friendly and I don't need to ask for anything. On average UK,s Colleges and Universities has facilities for Visitors especially for Learners and Sudents. Toilet access for Disable Visitors and newly Commers. Quality and safe Educational Teaching Instituions. First visit this feedback so disappointed, danger, negligence that could harm any new learners.Totally not recommended for disable learners or jobcentres Clients. I would like to mind attention please for Tower Hamlet Authorities and Honourable Mayor for Disability rights or whoever has diseases, health conditions. Co-operation and kind manners will be bring for all of us brighter education and brighter future. Thanks indeed.
This college is Not bad but management is very unorganised. They sometimes put you in a lower level evethough you are in a higher level.
SEN is appealing. Was told SEN child cannot enrol after they made the parent and YP wait 2 hours. Was informed only the SEN Dep can enrol if the child has an EHCP and of course no one was available. So why make them waiting and complete the process and go through the assessment? Ill informed staff. Incompetent management. Students are helpful. Got the Senior Curriculum Manager Clifford who explained that cannot take a SEN child without consulting the Borough when explained to him the process would be to enrol then consult the Brough to name the provision on the EHCP they were told that enrolment was closed and the college was no long taking students. Waste of time. Would not recommend.
I was a former student at New city College. When I tried to ask Jenny Ritchie to help me, she didn't give me a chance to say what I want. She shouts too much without a reason. I studied here last year and I got my GCSES. I got my maths thanks to Francis Ljundonola and he along with a lot of teachers and students at College know that I am a well behaved student and I do have a good attitude to learning. I was even awarded a certificate and prize for doing well with my maths. I went along with my Father to that ceremony and everyone saw that. I was the best student last year. I don't mind if she has made up her mind about me. Thank you for help.
I would give this college a 0 if I had the chance, NEVER, I say EVER come to this college or anything related to it, they do not give chances or any opportunity to the wise, they judge from the piece of paper they hold. You're better off in a college which respects even if that means you have to go far away. First year was awful they were talking about how they are such a great college and giving people a chance however this was soon not the case the college recommended me a entry level 3. When I passed my English functional skills so in the following I had to redo because the teacher didn't like me. 2nd year I was doing level 1 course however this was during covid and the teacher said I should IT however the teachers in charge only gave me a level 1 when I had a level 1 qualification already which is rather pathetic. My level 1 IT teacher didn't know what he was saying mostly waffling and making other students struggle when he could have done more to help. My level 2 was AWFUL the teachers didn't attend, one of teachers was missing for a whole year his name is Javid when we asked for help he never helped us and I as the student had to help everyone else because they didn't know what they were doing when it is the teachers responsibility to do so. The progression plan is awful when I had my English and Maths they said I was struggling and couldn't cope with the level 2. This college doesn't give people chances, instead they ruin peoples lives by extending their lives to 2 to 5 to 7 years which shouldn't be happening in such a massive college. Everything is disorganised no one knows. Easily however someone who can do the work can't because of what? a teachers opinion? Their needs to be some sort of anti corruption in this college embezzling money from the people and from the government how low can they be?
The principal Alison Arnault and her group of friends/staff have made a mockery of this potentially nice college with their bully dynamics for decades. With total impunity
It was okay. I have been at this college for 5 years. I started my first day back in 2017. I just finished college 3 weeks ago to finish off my previous courses. I am going to start a new life in September.
