Lovely place, very friendly and inviting people..... You need to come out of your shell and just be inclusive... People are good! They are understanding and very sweet to international students. There are number of opportunities for everyone it's just you have to take the initiative to take a step forward!
The financial support from this uni splendid! If you Eligible they can fund your interview day, open day and your applicant day!! They can fund your accomodation, train, taxi, bus, or fuel!! They have a travel fund scheme in place where the staff are soooo supportive. I have been speaking to martha and she has been emailing me throughout this week to help me plan my applicant day. She helped me overcome all the problems i have encountered and has been overall very kind and polite. I realty really appreciate her help and support and all the staff from uea in general. Thanks to all this support i was able to feel welcomed and equal to all the other students. I have firmed this university and i cannot wait to start uni in September!
I would personally avoid studying at this institution unless you have a very specific course you want to study that you cannot find at any where better. The university is suffering a major financial situation which is likely to have a massive strain on the quality of education and quality of research it outputs. The university seems to put all of its resources and efforts towards advertising the 'LCR' which is essentially UEA's attempt at a nightclub scene, although they play the same tracks in the same order from the week before, and hike up the prices of drinks to make more money out of students. I found this place to be very shady and unsafe. The quality of education is fine, at least for now, but definitely not world-class by any standard, and the quality of support the university offers its students is not great, they seem to let students in with low grades who are not suited for the course as the university struggles to find students working at high levels and needs funding from students, this also brings in students who have low interest in studying but rather causing anti-social disruption on campus. The town Norwich that UEA is associated with is one of the most sleepiest towns I have seen, and it makes Cambridge look like a mega city compared to it, there really is nothing to do here and if you're a student you might find it hard to find suitable places to do grocery shopping as well as clothes shopping, not to mention the transport is not consistent and does not run past 10 or 11 at night. The only good things I can think about this university is the green open space and the library, however I am certain there are other universities set on a more picturesque location and have a larger library. If you have the grades or budget to find another institution to go to, I highly suggest you do, I do not believe this university has the management and funding to remain a top 30 UK university in the next few years. The management and staff do not care about you, and thats the bottom line.
Went for a quick walk around the campus. Really pleased for our daughter to read Psychology at UEA. Situated in 36 acres with lots of rural space and greenery for social distancing
Beautiful campus with some impressive architecture. So well organised today for first day of starting University.
I came here for its open day on 7th July 2018. There was lots of parking. We were greeted by many helpers around the massive campus, who guided us into the main information area, where we got all we needed for the day, including a free tote bag and free water. Wildlife prospers around the area. You may see rabbits! It’s a very quiet and peaceful area, away from the city life. You can find yourself in many quiet places. Everyone was very helpful. You can walk around yourself or be toured around by friendly students. I attended the biochemistry talks and the chemistry talks. They were very informative and very helpful. Thank you Mr Hemmings! You can get very fit from walking around from one class to another, there’s a lot of walking needed to get somewhere. It’s very spaced out. The accommodations are very nice. There are three types of accommodations and they are all very modern, and are situated in a quiet area. The science blocks are state of the art, especially the chemistry laboratories. However, you can get lost if you don’t use the map, as it’s very spaced out. I got lost thrice. This overall is a great university for the scientists. It’s like a small town, there are lots of shops, lots of restaurants, a nice community with its own area for all subjects. However, there isn’t much time to look around everything, unless you run all the time! There are also lots of options for the musician. The university is also LGBT friendly and actively spreads awareness on sexual harassment and matters like that! They even have gender neutral toilets! I am definitely adding this to the list of universities I may apply for! Thank you for everything, UEA. H
A great public space for walking, relaxing and taking in nature. A place to breathe.. a lake to walk round, listen to the trees wave in a breeze, see a sculpture trail, watch bird life.
Impressive place. I study here and believe me, I don't have any words to express how much I love this uni. But discover it by yourself.
Good uni if you're a student. Good gym & music events. Nice grounds with lake .
The place seems great, lovely clean campus, professional and very helpful staff. Everyone is so approachable and friendly
