High end dining in a location you'd never stumble across with out a little help from Maps. Food lived up to my high expectations and the service was top notch. The restaurant itself is small with a great ambiance giving an intimate setting. Pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality, for not much more than a mid range chain restaurant you can get some really high end cuisine.
Fantastic service and food, Barry and the crew never fail to deliver. A party of 10 this visit, all of whom couldn't praise the venue highly enough. Without doubt my favourite restaurant in Southampton.
Great food but poor venue and atmosphere. Sticky, oversize table and a bizarrely decorated room. Carpet is old and the invasive fire escape door and sign, along with the exposed radiators make the place look shabby. The room is small with poor acoustics, so you never feel completely private and can hear everything the other table is saying. Waitress didn't know what wines were paired with what foods and whilst our cocktail to start with was delicious, we were always left wondering whether someone would come and serve us. For a team of Chef's and Sommeliers with Michelin star experience under their belt, this is an experiment that is not working. Must improve Service and Atmosphere. The other top restaurants in Southampton are far more enjoyable experiences even if the food is not as good as Quay Fifteen.
One of the worst ever restaurant I have ever been in my entire life. We were travelling to Cornwall and decided to stop for lunch in Southampton, found this place on one of the most used rating websites which after this experience will never use again!, which gave it a very good review and rating. Saying that the place is over pretentious does not even begin to describe it. Small, dimly lit, uncomfortable tables too small for people above 6 foot and positioned too close to each other, fake lush furniture. The palace was almost empty with only 2 tables occupied beside ours, an open kitchen overlooking the restaurant allowed all the smells into the main area ever heard of extraction fans?. A somewhat useless waitress dressed for a Sunday church event took our orders at 12.15, we had to repeat 3 times what we wanted since she could not understand our accents. At 13.05 starters had not yet appeared... the two teenagers in the kitchen pretending to be cooks looked puzzled and spent most of the time talking to each other... at 13.10 I told the waitress that unless they served the food we would go since we were on a schedule. Finally at 13.15 starters arrived: a poor attempt at fine dining, squashy tasteless food, put together without taste or understanding of fine dining. Mains was worse, beside the above, the meat was chewy and undercooked a feat in itself!, vegetables tasted watery and soft with no texture. A disgusting meal. The bill was also ridiculous we do not drink so we had water at £64... Appalling experience, avoid at all costs.
In summary: If you want a nice relaxed Sunday lunch away from the hustle and bustle of overcooked carveries, this is the place for you. Choice of beef, chicken, fish or a veggie option, followed by a choice of desserts. In Detail: My hubby and I have been visiting Quay Fifteen now for over 2.5 years. It's always our go to place for special occasions or when we just want to treat ourselves. It was only recently that we realised they now offer a 2 course Sunday lunch for approx £22pp. My husband and I both ordered the roast beef, followed by cheese and biscuits. Couldnt fault it! Beef was lovely and tender, crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud and fresh veggies. I ordered some extra gravy love gravy! which was no hassle at all and made fresh! The team here are lovely, and they currently serve Dancing Man IPA which was a firm favourite with my hubby.
This hidden gem is quite possibly the best restaurant in Southampton! Absolutely amazing food, a warm & friendly atmosphere, & it won't break the bank. Love it here :
Very nice place. I was there on my birthday dinner and I'm absolutely happy! delicious food, professional staff, quiet area. I will be back there soon!
The food is unusual and fantastic, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a delightful pig's head terrine and beef with blue cheese gnocchi.
Fantastic food, friendly atmosphere, great cocktails and now doing a Sunday lunch that you've got to try, like being in heaven
Excellent food, superb service. Not cheap but worth it for a special occasion or just as a treat.
