I came there in summer to enjoy the landscapes from the New Forest breezers. That are only available in summer. You can go up to the open part of the double-decker. The New Forest didn't really impress me by its nature but it's beautiful for sure but by his wildlife. It was so wonderful to see, as soon as you enter the gates of the National Park you can literally meet everywhere horses, donkeys and cows, also in the towns and villages. Definitely worth a visit, but if you want to experience a national park with a breathtaking landscape and beautiful villages, I would rather go for the Dales, Peak District or South Downs for example.
It was a lovely place to stay. Stayed in a little village of Frogham. Local farm shop selling fresh produce & serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. Lots of hiking! It was lovely to see many horses, cows, donkeys, and deer roaming freely. Lepe Beach is only 30 minutes' drive away. Lovely thatched places & superb country pubs with localy produced food. Great for cyclists. Dog-friendliness: Great for walking dogs. Although good to keep them on long leads as lots of roaming animals
Lovely place to walk around and relax. It's nice and clean, there is a walking path. Also might spot some wild horses on a sunny day. I have not seen any toilets around. There is a car park tho.
Definitely a great place for a casual walk or a hike. Lots of trees and greenery with the occasional site of horses, cows, deers and other animals. There’s a lot of flat land area you can explore without much effort. There aren’t many shops in the area once you go deeper, so make sure to take ample water and food with you.
Spectacular area with a huge range of activities to explore for all the family. Walking and cycling trails cover the park. Gorgeous quiet drives, many parking areas allowing you to stop and wander. Many cafes, pubs and other local businesses to keep you fed, watered and entertained during your stay. Check out the new forest website for places to visit.
Went there first time with friends, their kids and Millie the dog. We had absolutely amazing time. Saw horses, ponies, cows, donkeys, ducks, deers ... loved the picnic area Millie had to on leash in the picnic area which is understandable. We didn't get proper sun hence grey photos Fresh, clean air and lots of lush green land..amazing! would love to explore more on a sunny day.... Playground: Plenty of space for kids to play around and explore. Restrooms: Very convenient and close to picnic area, I didn't use it ... Dog-friendliness: Definitely dog friendly but recommend to keep them on leash. Picnic area: Beautiful picnic area surrounded by trees and got a lot bench tables
If you want to go for a weekend or week away, the New Forest is perfect if you like beaches, quays, forest or heathlands. It's perfect for walking at all of the above, with the different places to visit means you will always be busy and it's all relatively close so you can travel from the east to west in about 20-30 minutes. Bucklers Hard is a great place to see the history and chill by the water and go for a walk to Beaulieu. Beaulieu itself has the big house and also gardens and national motor museum so good for those that like cars. If you live wildlife you will love seeing the horse's, donkeys, pigs and cows roaming freely. I would recommend going to the Fighting Cocks pu /restaurant if you want to have good food but also see the animals walking g wild while you eat, there is always animals around. Summer holidays it can get busy on the Sunday it would seem, so if you want to travel makensure you leave early because in and around the main towns it can get very busy Picnic area: There is loads of walks around, I'd suggest to go to a visitor centre to see picnic area's or download the new forest walking app, why not bring the picnic with you and sit near your car but remember no BBQ and always take your rubbish specially with the animals roaming free and don't feed them either
Just beautiful forest, with wild horses. A place where you can get in touch with nature for hours. Loads of trails to explore however easy to get lost. Be mindful of the horses. They are wild and not to be treated as pets. Do not touch, disturb, or damage the forest. This is a place that requires respect and needs to be preserved. Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly, keep on leach and pick up after the dog
Every party of the New Forest is so beautiful, no matter what the weather and no matter what season you visit. Apart from the majestic trees, the animals are a special festure of this forest, with horses, dockeys, cattle and pigs wandering around. There are also inviting cafes, eg Daisies at Brockenhurst, Peggy Mays at Lyndhurst. So many beautiful places to visit, eg Lymington. Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard.. and the tall trees walk at Rhinefield. I could go on and on... a bonus are the free car parks through out the forest.
never get bored of the new forest any part of it is just stunning and is always a hit with the kids best place for them to run about freely remembering how much better it is to be outdoors than on theor screens
