Lovely gym which doesn’t get too busy even at peak hours but it’s very disjointed. The free weights area is in a different section to everything else and the actual free weights training area is very small. The gym is clean and staff are helpful so overall good experience!
Amazing Gym, Helpful and welcoming staff. I did the learn to run class today with Odie and I managed to run for 30 minutes I never have done this and get really tried after 5 min of running. I would recommend this gym and the ‘learn to run’ class for everyone :.
An amazing experience finding this gem randomly during business travel. Self service sign up, walk in and walk out with a code. The revolving entrance/exit door mechanism gives one a feeling of superman telephone booth transformation. All machines are proportionally situated across the floor including group classes.
the place is now closed. why bother telling its customers?! UPD the gym has now asked for more details. what is not clear here? I paid for parking, turned up for the class at this gym and faced a closed gym. why was I not informed? a notification of a class cancellation came in 30mins prior to the class.
Great gym, the staff is very kind ! Can be quite busy after work but beside that, it has all the essentials.
A small but functional gym with lots of facilities. Doesn't generally get that busy even at peak times. Plenty of space and machines etc to do your workout around others.
It's fine. Has everything an average person who simply wants to improve their general fitness might need. The negatives are that the entire gym always smells awful especially the women's changing room and it gets VERY hot as there is poor ventilation and AC.
Foul smell of gas I have been a member of Pure gym Great Portland Street for many years and I am using the gym frequently. The gym is clean and the staff friendly. However, the TV’s have not been working for more than six months. They were working fine beforehand. The staff provides conflicting answers to the solution such as a chip is missing and very difficult to find or the residential building, where the gym is based, is interfering with the signal. I visited the gym last week for the first time in a month and there is now a foul smell of gas near the exercise mats. Both my husband and I raised with the staff last week and they reported it to management. They said that the smell is coming from the sewage vent. Like the TV’s nothing is being done about it and the smell today was unbearable. Fellow gym goers are all commenting on the foul stench. The monthly membership has just increased which I do not have a problem with if the gym is working properly however, I cannot envisage that we will continue as members for much longer due to the polluted air.
Edit: The gym used to be 4 stars but went down after the management changed, previous manager wanted to move the tidy crowded weights area to the more open space but wasn't able to. Nobody puts their weights away which is made because that's extra exercise. This includes the new PTs, who also don't put their weights away or say hello, just stare at you when you work out, that ain't friendly. Oh and men that go to the toilet then not wash your hands... YOU LOT are DISGUSTING! WASH YOUR HANDS! Moved gyms to a better, cleaner gym where the weights are always where they should be and people practice base hygiene.
Had my first cycle and strength training class here. Great for beginners like me. Team is very professional. Many thanks to Martin!
