This is a very economical day out for adults. As others have said there isn’t much for children to do. The gardens are spectacular and when you think of just 1 man by himself is still the only person maintaining this sumptuous garden its phenomenal. Plus he is in his 80’s! There are always offers available online to get a discount on entry. There are workshops available also at a cost. One is a Japanese lantern evening with Tea and meditation. Plus various others available too. Beautiful gardens, lovely tea. However the hygiene here leaves a lot to be desired. The last visit I made the kitchen/dining area was not clean and there were masses of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Next time I will take a packed lunch. The gardens far outweigh the kitchen/dining area situation. If you are looking for inspiration for your own garden, a peaceful stroll, a place to meditate or simply a picnic venue then this is an exceptional place to visit. You will not be disappointed.

Visited this beautiful garden today and was totally blown away. It is absolutely stunning! Such a charming man who has created this work of art. Cant wait to visit again.

This garden is beautiful and tranquil. Maitreya is a wonderful soul. Full marks for his hospitality, scones and tea. Go visit, go meditate!

Nice gatden. Better if had been sunny, The host Maitreya could have done with help in the kitchen and toilet facility not the best.

Beautiful and tranquil garden. The owner maintains the japanese garden himself and also serves some refreshments inside. Unfortunately didn't get to try his famous scones as they were all gone! Serves a variety of tea.
