Close to Bestwood village, the free car park offers space for around 50 vehicles. As you exit the car park you can see the historic bestwood colliery now a museum item. Plenty of trails to travel that provide interesting walks. Only criticism would be lack of bins for dog poo!.
Bestwood Country Park is one of the hidden gems of Nottingham. With well posted trails, picnic spots, children's play area, and dedicated bridleways it's a charming place for hikers, riders, joggers, dog-walkers and nature enthusiasts alike in any season of the year. Cherry on the cake is ample free parking on site.nA caveat: the toilets inside the park are rarely open for public.
One of the best if not the best country parks in Nottingham lots of amazing views and scenery and a lot to explore in the forest there is a lot of trails around the woodlands which make a great spot to walk your dogs go for a walk or even a bike ride and there is also one of the first dual coal mines which has been restored and lots of information about the old coal mining which went on at bestwood country park before it was turned into a country park there is also a viewing point which you don't see too often anymore which over looks bulwell moor bridge and hucknall with some stunning views especially in the rare sunny weather we get in the UK. Best wood country park is also very close to mill lakes which is a must to visit if your planning on coming to bestwood country park if your interested in seeing some pictures about mill lakes I recommend viewing my reviews as I've visited quite a few places and took some amazing photos.
Wonderful place. The winding house and the park itself are just great. Lovely for a cycle ride or a walknLots of different birds including birds of prey.
Great spot for walks, cycling, dog walking, and horse riding; plus, free parking.
