Always a favourite! The hall is really incredible to look around on it's own and is free to enter, they have an amazing selection of taxidermy which particularly floats my boat. The grounds are great for a walk, don't miss the area round the back of a hall where the greenhouse is! Personally I wouldn't recommend it for dog walking in June, July, September and October unless your dog is happy to be on a lead for most of it as there's restrictions due to the deer. The cafe gets REALLY hectic at weekends/holidays and could be cheaper but is still pretty good!

Very special place to go. It's nice to see a museum in this day and age that still shows how our interest in wild life began. We now cringe at the thought of killing wild life for our own interest, but without the ways of past naturalist we would not be preserving wild life today. The way things are presented at the museum is in good taste without the modern shock horror of so many wildlife exhibitions of today. The deer park is a shock to many as the deer are able to walk freely in the grounds. This is not a zoo, but a true oasis in a city centre.

Nice for walking around the lake. Nice little cafe near the kids playground. Playground showing its age and needs updating. As with these type of places the cafes are expensive for what you get. Tip, take your own cup and you get 50p off a hot drink which makes it a bit easier on the wallet. Also good to take a picnic when the weather suits. You have to pay for parking but you can usually find off street free parking less than a five minute walk away if you are on a budget. Have not been in the hall recently so cannot comment. There are better parks in with nicer playgrounds around nottingham but this may be a place to go for a change once in a while

A lovely huge house set in acres of gardens. The building houses hundreds of insects and stuffed animals. These animals from around the world are expertly put together. It also tells us about the family history. In the grounds you can see the stag with there huge antlers just sitting very closely to the house. The views from here are amazing. It was good to see it was free admission.
