Left some very sentimental jewellery on the train and Jodie the customer service staff member for avanti was amazing, managed to get staff member to check the train at another station and my stuff got returned by the next morning, thank you so much! Best customer service
Reviewing here because its impossible elsewhere. Avanti West Coast never has seats available because they allow reserved seating but no-one ever sits in the seats they've reserved. It's unsafe to have people standing in doorways like we have to. Also, the doors close on people constantly. I've seen a woman have her hot drink all over her. If the doors closed on a child, they could be seriously injured.nnWe know you have a shop on board. We know it is overpriced. We know it is closed.
As far as train stations go this one is pretty easy to navigate, some basic refreshments available. There is free pick up/drop off parking on the big open air car park next door. You only have 15 mins, but it's really useful for a quick turn around. Details are at the pay stations.
A disappointing train station by and large. Insufficient refreshments available at too-high prices, little miserly information boards instead of nice big ones, no nice warm waiting booth when you need one. Some of the staff are lovely but others seem downright obstructive.
