We booked this premier inn for 2 nights as we were wedding guests at a nearby venue.nThe venue was only a 10min drive away so it was an ideal location for us.nCannot fault the various staff who were on shift during our stay. Very welcoming and attentive. We asked at reception for an iron and they took one up to the room for us.nThe overall interior was warm, some may say dated but I feel it suited the building.nOverall cleanliness cannot be faulted. With our room in particular the only signs of wear were just some paint chips on the walls and paint flaking off the wall in the bathroom. There were a few cobwebs on the ceiling but that’s just me being picky. The bed and other furniture was all up to standard. We had a lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we were in the area.
Not up to the usual standard we have experienced with other Premier Inn locations. The rooms are very tired in appearance. Lots of damage to walls and doors that make it feel very cheap. The bed must have been a replacement for the original as it was far too small for the headboard/bedside units arrangement.nWe went to use the extra pillows in the bag under the bed as usual, and when we opened it, there were no pillow cases on the pillows and there were bugs living in the bag. Silverfish bugs to be precise. Not pleasant when you’re about to go to sleep in this room. We saw more silverfish the next morning. There was also quite a lot of dust on the walls and lamp shades. The USB charging sockets were at best loose in the wall and hard to get to work, and one had actually been pushed back into the wall box so was no good.nOverall, staff seemed nice, although we didn’t have much interaction, location is good but the rooms need a refresh.
Handy for the nearby attractions, as it's just off the A21. The room was clean comfortable, albeit needs a bit of TLC.nThe machine to register your car registration wasn't working but you can enter it at reception on the check in form.nBreakfast in the adjacent Vauxhall Inn was excellent, and makes such a great change from the usual hot buffets, and the coffee was the best I've had at a Premier Inn, as it's not from the usual Costa machine. .nI don't know though what the problem is with these hotels, but the kettle in the room was disgusting, full of lime scale. Why can't they descale them occasionally?
Premier inn was like any other, the restaurant on site was diabolical.nFood really wasn't nice. Staff efficient and helpful when complaining about the food.nTrying to make out it's a countryside pub but at the end of the day it's part of a chain serving reheated produce.
I can not thank your team enough especially Steve. You went out of your way to accommodate me into my room so that I was on time for a very important meeting. Thank you so much.
