We were 17 people on a combined garden and wine trip and stayed at the Camden Arms from 08.05.24 - 13.05.24.n- The rooms: These were in a very quiet location overlooking the garden and excellently equipped. There was a trouser press, an ironing board with iron, a coffee machine etc. There is nothing to complain about.n- Breakfast: Nothing was left to be desired here, the selection is huge and everything was delicious!n- Dinner: We ate there all but one evening and were overwhelmed by the quality and richness of the food. I had imagined a simple pub meal to be something different and was absolutely surprised at how good the food was. Only the wine list could be revised, a few higher-quality wines would have gone better with the good food.n- The service: This was the highlight - I have rarely experienced such good and attentive service. And even if something didn't work out, it was resolved in the customer's favour! That's how it should be!nnConclusion: The Camden Arms can only be warmly recommended and is the perfect base for a trip to the south of England!
Large group meal booked for Sunday lunch time. Staff were visible and friendly. Helpful with questions about dietary requirements and other queries. The food was very good. Highlights were the Sunday carvery and the homemade pie. Plenty of parking in their private carpark just outside the pub. Highly recommend
We had a family meal here on Sunday 25th February to celebrate my daughter's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We all had the carvery and between us tried all the meat options. In each case the meat was tender and perfectly cooked as were the vegetables. The accompanying sauces were very good especially the horse radish as long as you like it hot!. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff are all friendly whilst still serving efficiently. We didn't have to wait for anything. All in all a very enjoyable experience and one I will be repeating soon.
Simon is amazing and so is the food. I asked him if he could order us a taxi and he took us back to our hotel. I seriously cannot believe what just happened, how unbelievable, such a great guy. Thank you so much. The staff here are so friendly. I recommend this place and wish we had booked in there instead of the Mercure.
We went to this Pub/ Restaurant for some dinner as we’re staying locally for work and was very pleasantly surprised. The pub itself is gorgeous, very cosy and we loved all of the food. The drinks are quite pricey but the food is good value. The pie I had was home cooked and very tasty. The staff were also extremely welcoming and it was great service. We will definitely becoming back again!
