Stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting relatives. Very warm and welcoming staff. Good sized bedroom with seating area and spacious well appointed bathroom. It’s obviously an old hotel and suffers with very noisy creaky floor boards. However the room was wonderfully cosy on the coldest weekend of the year ( a little too warm, so turned down the radiators!) Continental Breakfast options were varied and there was plenty of choice for a delicious cooked breakfast. Happy to recommend as a low key option for a couple of days. Not luxury by any means but good value and very pleasant. Plenty of secure free parking. And right in the middle of town so lots of options for alternative dining in the evening. We will stay again, I’m sure.

Pro's, room was clean and reasonably modern, staff were polite, location was really good, near to the town centre and close to the castle, price was right for the room. I wish that I could have tried the restaurant as the menu looked quite good. Cons, The room had the most squeaky floorboards I have ever come across, the floor sloped visibly, and the room was quite cold but in their defence the hotel is a few hundred years old, I saw no evidence of a lift anywhere so if you are disabled I would check first, but I think the restaurant is accessible by wheel chair. The hotel does give out fan heaters and fans if you need them. I would stay here again, probably.

Had a nice stay the hotel staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good with a good varied menu. Not for people that struggle with stairs.

Delightful, comfortable, interesting, historical hotel. Our Garden Room was warm, quiet, comfy. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable staff - some good craic with the barman!

Great hotel, rooms a bit dated but clean tidy and comfy. Would definitely use the hotel again, freindly, helpful and pleasant staff, breakfast was 100%
