Typical Premier Inn with a clean room, welcoming staff and convenient facilities. Enjoyed a relaxing stay here,the room met my expectations and the surroundings were quiet. Plenty of parking on-site, no additional charge but you need to register your vehicle at reception. Good value when I stayed in January 2025.nI can't comment on the restaurant as I ate elsewhere, but it was conveniently located.
Put me off Premier Inns for life!!nnUnfortunately as soon as we pulled up into the car park we could see how unkept the whole place looked.nnThe room was chilly, dirty and mouldy.nClearly the upkeep of this has been neglected as expected a lot better standards.nnThe bathroom was falling apart, skirting boards hanging off, mouldy shower head and a clogged up extractor fan with fluffnthat had clearly been there for years, that no matter how long you kept on, would never absorb all the steam after having a shower.nnThe room was scruffy and clearly not been deep cleaned in years.nThe most shocking thing was the window sill which had black mould growing and actually furry fungi growing! We all had sore throats after sleeping in the room.nnThe breakfast, which is in a separate building at a Beefeater, which you have to go outside to get to, was actually ok.nnAlso the information leaflets for local attractions were dated from 2015! We asked if they had any up to date ones, and the lady behind reception said no!nnThis experience is a real shame as we’ve never stayed in such a run down and dirty Premier Inn.nShould have booked the Travel Lodge down the road instead.
Room 205. Great location, able to pay early check-in fee which was very welcome.nThis is a lovely room overlooking the canal with opening windows, standard Premier Inn layout. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Easy visit to Whisky distillery across the road and walk along canal to the Falkirk Wheel. Will visit again.
Why do I give a budget hotel such a high rating I hear you ask? All of the reception staff were welcoming and happy to answer any questions.nnThe room was as expected from a Premier Inn, you know what you're getting. Amazingly comfortable bed as usual.nnThe clincher for me was the standard of the breakfast in the attached restaurant! I have been to many Whitbread properties, none have ever made a breakfast like this place. I can honestly say it was better than many 4 and 5 star properties I've stayed at.nnEverything was cooked to perfection, and fresh to order, I was shocked at the quality of the cooking to be honest. People of Falkirk and surrounding area, do yourselves a favour and use this place. It was a travesty that whilst I was there for 90 minutes, that I only seen another ten people enjoying breakfast. This on a Saturday morning too!
Reason for two stars is the attached beefeater. Seems to be being run down. No draft beer, diminishing bottled beer. No steak on first night. Only 4 steaks second night at 5.30 pm...No mustard. Premier inn itself is comfortable and clean. But not many eating establishments available in short walk.
