This was a difficult visit to rate. The hotel, itself, was right up to the usual standard that we have come to expect from Premier Inn. The rooms are well laid out and clean. But there were lithe signs of a slip in standards. For example, not as many sachets of coffee as we have come to expect. It wasn't a problem. But it does suggest a new attitude towards thrift. Also, the new requirement to pay for parking was a big negative point. Surely the chain can provide free parking to its many guests. Even though the cost was as littleas £3 for 24 hours, it was another unwelcome change in attitude towards guests. But the biggest drain on rating this visit was the staff. It would appear that Premier Inn have recruited a large number of young, inexperienced staff, and it shows, not so much in the service provided, but in the attitude with which the service is provided. The hotel has lost its welcoming air in favour of a more business-like sharpness. Not a welcome change in my opinion.

Pretty much what you'd expect from a Premier inn. A good standard. Very clean room, a good size and well presented. The breakfast was really good, staff were very helpful. Well located for the M5. But not much else close by. The bed was comfy but the quilts let it down a bit for me though. Synthetic (to be expected) but not very good quality. The shower was pretty rubbish too, water pressure very low. And the TV was tiny.

Ive stayed here a few times but this is the most disappointed I’ve been. Here are a few tips to avoid the same disappointment: 1. Unless you are used to traffic noise, asked to be moved if your room is facing the road - the noise is continuous all night. The poor fitting seals of the french doors make the noise worse as the leak noise pollution. 2. Unless you are a smoker, ask to be moved if you are situated directly above the ‘smoking area’ (see photo) - the poor fitting door/window seals mean you get a strong smell of smoke in the room. 3. Ask reception to change the settings on the heating if your room doesn’t warm up - mine was set to blow cold air instead of warm. 4. If your light fittings rattle when the people in the room above you walk around - ask to be moved - in the middle of the night, this sounds like someone is coming through the floor. You won’t avoid the heavy sounds of footsteps in any of the rooms tough unless you are on the top floor 5. The restaurant only opens at 6:00 - book to avoid disappointment because it gets very busy and do does the bar area. 6. Prepare to now be charged for parking - although they do now inform you of the charge when booking - you have no other option but to use their car park - you would think that this being one of the most expensive Premier Inns, parking would be included, particularly as you have no choice in parking.

Stayed here with my family for 2 nights, to attend a wedding. Great accommodation!! Lovely staff!! Not exactly my style of restaurant but absolutely nothing to complain about. Would definately go again!!

Clean, comfortable and well-stocked rooms. Air conditioning is next to useless though. Breakfast was ok, decent spread but plates and bowls were dirty. Generally a great overnight experience.
