Okay we drove for miles to get here after selecting an odd highly rated restaurant. It is next to the adjoining cafe which was half full and our side empty. So little assistance was given, waiting around for quite some time. The menu was strange and maybe just me, but I don’t remember the Portuguese food being so oily. It was so oily and salty that my daughter couldn’t eat it. Mine wasn’t much better with the meat so fatty. But maybe it’s to someone else’s taste, but not any of ours I’m afraid to say.
Literally like being in a traditional Portuguese cafe. Complete with Pastel de nata's. Definitely worth a visitFood: 5/5
Very good café and restaurant! Wonderful kind people!! Amazing portugese tarts, the best i have ever had in my whole life they are warm and fresh. Coffee is also very good. The food was good tasty, hearty food with huge portion. The steak sandwich was so good. Some dishes werent the best though such as the fish and chips. The food overall is very good homestyle portugese cooking Service was amazing, the waiter really went out if his way to welcome us and create a top dining experience. He bought out tasters for us so we could see if we liked the daily special and changed the TV channel. The menu has a great range. The prices vary depending on what you get, but overall its very cheap and great value for money. Definitely the best cafe in Bodmin so I highly recommend.
A little Gem in Bodmin! Friendly staff, great food & the most gorgeous sizzling big shrimp in garlic sauce. It has got a quieter room at the back which is beautifully decorated. The espetada with beef & shrimp are very tasty. The cod fish dish with cheese topping very yummy. Condensed milk dessert wow! I will give you 5 if you can present a home made dessert. A nice wine at a reasonable price
I had a fantastic experience at the property. The management team was exceptionally welcoming and provided excellent service. They were very helpful and contributed significantly to the enjoyment of my stay.Food: 4/5
Lovely little restaurant just off the main street. If you like Portuguese food then you are in for a treat. Just popped in for a coffee but after looking at the menu had lunch there. Menu at lunch time caters for snacks but also meals from main menu. Food was well prepared , good sized portions and a fair price and tasted delicious. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. We had the Beef and prawn kebab and Garlic steak and home made wedges. We are passing Bodmin on Friday and will definitely stop there again for lunch. Parking: Paid parking close by.
Lovely friendly staff, beautiful food freshly prepared. Big portions, definitely value for money, will be back!
Was not a good experience. Dinner for 5. All food was with bad quality, dry, no taste, all beef was defrosted on microwave and grill or fried completed dry. Not to repeat the experience.Food: 1/5
I had a pleasure to shoot a wedding reception at Portuguese Taste. There was a beautifully presented buffet with Portuguese specialities and a stunning reception room. Absolutely delicious food and of course the best Portuguese wine! The service was superb and the staff very friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone with appreciation of delicious food and to those who want to try traditional Portuguese cuisine. I will definitely be coming back :D
We didn't actually use the restaurant. We popped in for Portuguese groceries. The owners and staff couldn't be more helpful. Considering that everything is imported, the prices are quite reasonable. While waiting we sat at the café and enjoyed a lovely bifana a pastel de Nata and a fabulous meia de leite. For many this means nothing but those who know Portugal and Portuguese food and drink I am sure those can relate.
