Good old fashioned Chinese favourites on the menu. Pancake rolls are delicious, stuffed with ingredients, fried to perfection, and not greasy. Good deals on their meals too, and all really good and tasty. Won’t go anywhere else when I’m in Bodmin, and yes, I have tried other takeaways.
We visit Wongs at least once or twice a month and I have enthusiastically given Wongs 5 star reviews in the past. Sadly we have found the quality of food from has been far lower over the last two or three months now. Some dishes have still been nice but others either burnt, very greasy or just not a very pleasant taste. In addition to this I usually phone and order ahead because parking can be a little awkward, as the food is sometimes done before I arrive I always ask that food is popped into one of their insulated bags if it’s ready before I get there, they always promise to do this but to date have never actually done it, supposedly it’s always “just come out of the kitchen” but is often less than warm by the time we get home. They have also increased the minimum spend for free prawn crackers to £35. We will be trying somewhere else next time.
Wong's isn't a sit down place just takeaway but service is quick and precise delivery drivers are polite and respectful of property good portions ,value for money,would definitely recommendFood: 5/5

The crispy chillie chicken was meant to be a bit spicy and after telling them to make it more spicy was yet sweet. Chicken was crispy but the sweetness lost the entire taste of the food.
Quick service but poor quality. Spring rolls empty pastry absolutely no filling -bland, very disappointing. Tried informing them over the phone but opinion dismissed and told ‘they are very popular’. Based on what we had, unlikely! A. Better spring rolls B learn to take constructive criticism. The customer does generally have an opinion that should be valued and not dismissed without consideration.
Wong's Chinese is located in Crockwell Street in the centre of Bodmin. Parking is possible outside but I guess not really recommended. Looks a little run down from the outside, but don't let that put you off. Food always freshly cooked to order and tastes really good. Waiting times normally around 15 minutes. They also do delivery in Bodmin for a charge of £1.50. Due to the demand of deliveries they wait can be sometimes longer if ordering on arrival. Friendly staff. Worth trying. The lemon chicken is amazing Been going to Wong's regularly since this review. Wanted to update it. As I mentioned in my first review the food tastes good. Their sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken and pancake rolls are brilliant. Only gripe is they have a habit of putting onion and carrot in everything so make sure you ask for this to be left out. Also it really could do with a proper clean inside. They have had dead flies in the windows for age's. Doesn't look good. Still one of the better Chinese takeaways in town
Finally a Chinese takeaway that isn't stingy on the meat portions. The crispy shredded chilli chicken and beef are both fantastic dishes. The sauce is far better than others I've tried with a good kick of spice. The difference between he beef and chicken is also really good, the beef is in strips and then coated whereas the chicken was coated and then cut. Duck in bbq sauce on rice is my go to for any Chinese and this one is a stand out. Unlike most where the duck is just thin cuts laid on top of the rice, Wongs gives you a whole duck breast sliced on top of the rice, fat and all. It's amazing for the price. The only mediocre dish we had was the plain soft fired noodles as a side dish. But this dish isn't the main event so don't let that put you off.
First time we have eaten at this Chinese, but it’s definitely the best we have ever eaten. Fresh ingredients, full of flavour, arrived extremely quickly. Delivery driver was polite. Very happy will be returning again. The prawn dish we was recommended went down a storm Thank you
Bit pricey like but so are all Chinese these days but the food was banging can't knock the chicken balls, they were outta this world
