I have just been to Ponteland Road walk in. The staff that checked me in were really friendly and professional giving me a clear timescale too. A guy called Daniel Ferguson was especially nice. I was then seen by Kayleigh Dodd the nurse who triaged and treated me. She was able to extract a deep thorn there and then without any pain and prescribe me with antibiotics for the infection. It was a slick operation in there tonight, a friendly professional and caring team, thank you
I have attended the clinic four times — once for myself and three times for my 15-month-old baby. After three months of GP appointments and visits to this clinic, the doctors finally identified a significant chest infection in my baby, which was only revealed through an X-ray.nnEarlier today, they mistakenly prescribed oral antibiotics in tablet form for him. When I went to the pharmacy, they recommended that I visit the walk-in clinic to get the correct medication prescribed. I wasn’t sure if the clinic would be able to do it, as the original prescription was issued by my GP, not them.nnUnfortunately, the nurse I spoke to at the walk-in clinic was absolutely terrible — she showed no empathy at all for a 15-month-old baby with a chest infection. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable, only for help or guidance. However, her behaviour and attitude were completely unprofessional and inappropriate for someone in her position. Instead of trying to understand the situation or find a solution, she shut me down immediately, repeating that they couldn’t help.nnShe didn’t give me the chance to fully explain what had happened, and she made no effort to consult a doctor or a manager. Instead, she was clearly more interested in getting me to leave — she was actually walking me to the door while I was still speaking.nnI’m really disappointed that the NHS has staff like this. Medical professionals should first and foremost be human — showing compassion, sensitivity, and a willingness to help patients. That’s the core of their job.nnP.S. I’ve seen the same nurse once before when I visited the clinic for myself. I had been suffering from a stomach bug for six days, with vomiting and diarrhoea, and her attitude then was just as dismissive. She had the same ironic expression, making me feel like a fool for even attending the clinic while I was clearly unwell.
Due to my doctors having zero appointments, they advised to visit my nearest walk in centre for an ear infection due to the risk symptoms progressing.nnI visited after a 9 hour day at work, approx 5:30pm, expecting to wait 1.5hours. I was fortunate enough on my visit to get seen to within 20 minutes, sorted with an antibiotic spray and now the problem has almost gone.nnI have visited before for a friend and the place was so busy there wasn’t even a seat available - but this time I personally struck lucky. But be mindful of when you visit id say!nnThank you to the lovely nurse who seen to me - I’m very grateful!
Amazing, outstanding, exemplary, exceptional, I think these are insufficient to explain this walk in centre namely the GP Chris Moll. After constant back and forth with my registered GP, I finally was heard and my concerns addressed. I cannot appreciate the help I received from this service enough.
Very rude clinician / nurse !! Today we were sent after calling 111 and they allocated appointment in this clinic, with my poor 9 month old daughter and nurse just looked at her and said “ she look perfectly fine to me”nTemperature 38,5C chesty cough , ear infection & refuses to eat for 11h due to bad throat .nDisgraceful!nShe got antibiotics in the end…
