I enjoyed a lovely 3 course gluten free Christmas dinner at the Plough last night. There were so many options including all the best starters and desserts. Yes actual desserts like sticky ginger pudding rather than just ice cream or fruit that most places offer. The brioche roll with my soup was great too. Enormous portions so I advise not eating for a full day before going, to make the most of it! In addition to the quality of the food, the atmosphere was great and the staff were all lovely. Huge thanks to the folk at the Plough, it really was amazing.
Really lovely carvery with the family. Meat and all the veg are excellent-hot and fresh, proper homemade yorkies too. Only downside is I felt the soft drinks are a bit on the pricey side - nearly £10 for 3. We stayed for dessert too which was also delicious. Definitely visit again.
Wonderful experience! The food was lovely, staff were friendly and attentive. Even better that we had a room upgrade when we arrived, room 8 was lovely, very big and spacious, wonderful bathroom which was very nicely decorated. Bed was very comfy, topper was abit too soft for my partner but I loved it. We will definitely be back
WOW WOW WOW we had an absolutely amazing carvery today. The meat was delicious, choice of turkey, pork loin or beef. Veg was hot and not dry like some places. Beautiful home made yorkies and actually crispy roasts potatoes. I can't compliment the chef enough. Had the brownies for dessert. Staff were super friendly. The only fault i over ate because it was that amazing
Good menu that caters for vegetarians. The food was tasty and plentiful. The ice creams are particularly good value. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the place itself is a little lacking in atmosphere.
We organised a nice country walk for 8 people, starting and ending here. Arranged with the pub our menu choices and expected approximate return time in the morning. Our table and lunch were both provided quickly and very well. Food was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Will go there again. :
This pub definitely deserves 5*. The food is delicious, the service is great. All staff friendly. We stayed the night and the room was clean and spacious. Breakfast also tasty with great service. They cater well for coeliacs. The manager even went out and brought my mother in law something that wasn't on the menu. I cannot fault them. We will be visiting here everytime we come to Norfolk!
Terrible. Visited for a Christmas meal with my children. We drove 40 minutes out of our way for the advertised Anti pasti starter and all had high hopes, even rang ahead to check our table was available. Arrived to wait 10 minutes to be pointed to a table. Then upon seating we were immediately asked what we wanted to drink before even getting a menu or wine list so we asked for two minutes. 20 minutes later the table behind us being cleaned twice by two different waitresses in the meantime someone came to take our drinks order after we had to beckon. We ordered food at this point to be told there was no Anti pasti starter with no explanation, apology or offer of an alternative. We went on to order mains, which then took about 40 minutes to arrive. We raised our disappointment during the meal and a lovely waitress advised to speak to the manager when we had finished. When we reached dessert point I asked to speak to the manager away from the children and raised our upset and explained the table behind us hadn't even been used since we'd been there and three staff had stood chatting at the bar at one point and at no point when I called or when we were given menus were we told anything was off the menu. The manager was very passive aggressive and pretty much said 'so what?' I reiterated how we felt and she said she she couldn't tell me what would be on the menu and when, regardless of their website and basically 'go away' Needless to say we paid up, left and got dessert from elsewhere, would never return. Terrible service, less than no care, average food and all together a real heart breaker for a once a year meal.
Lovely bars, great decoration. Friendly efficient staff.. Lovely home cooked fresh food. Great evening meal. Jam roly poly to die for. Good breakfast, very tasty bacon.
I had an amazing 3 course Christmas meal here. The food was incredible and presented beautifully. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!
