The Swan inn is situated in a lovely stunning location on the broads. It has beautiful views across the water and it has many historical features. There is a car park located next to the pub. It is cozy inside, lovely lit with wonderful beams. When we arrived, we had travelled over 2 hours in the dark with terrible lashing rain. We received a warm welcome on our arrival. Our hosts could not of been nicer. The food was very good, there were a couple of vegetarian choices which was good to see. All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, very cozy and warm with tea/coffee making facilities. It was a great Birthday celebration in wonderful surroundings. My only criticism was the bed.The mattress was very hard indeed and neither of us slept very well. I have chronic Arthritis and as the mattress had no give, found it very difficult to get comfy.
A nice pub right on the broads. We only had drinks here but it's got a lovely garden and fantastic indoor decor. Both the drinks were lovely and around £3 each or so. We had a boat so we moored up outside. The moorings are for customers only which seems reasonable. The member of staff that served us was a little bit snappy and sassy. We weren't really waiting to order yet, just standing back from the bar looking at the menu, firmly in relaxed broads-mode when she asked curtly "inside or outside?" and when we said we'd not decided yet it was obvious from her face that irritated her considerably.
I wish there were an option for 6 stars! One of the nicest meals I've had in a pub-type restaurant. The pub itself is beautiful, views of the river, nice spacious tables, warm atmosphere helped by lovely log fire during a very cold day! and great service, the staff were all really lovely. The food is just fantastic, was not expecting this when we ordered but it was all fresh made, utterly delicious and like eating the equivalent of a very warm hug! The slow cooked beef and porcini borguignon was rich, melt in the mouth and the dumpling was a fluffy thing of beauty. Highly recommended and wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!
Lovely location overlooking the River. Friendly staff and great menu pub food very good i enjoyed calamari starter, followed with a delicious lasagne. A mini desert +coffee great value for money. Thoroughly Recommend.
I took a group of friends for a meal here after a great day out locally. I had hoped it would round off a good day. I was wrong. The service was rubbish, three of the drink orders was wrong, there was only 9 of us. The food average and two of us were ill the following day. Would I go back? No. There’s a better pub just up the road. Very disappointed.
Never had a bad experience here.... wonderful staff...Bar/restaurant manager very professional but with a sense of humour....relaxing and comfortable.....the food always very good...and on winter a real log fire....for 3 of us 2 courses including drinks average around £75.. Very good indeed....become quite a regular.
Great pub restaurant in Horning overlooking the River Bure. Very friendly staff, yummy food, great views, dog friendly, clean loos, moor up outside or a little further along at the marina. Highly recommended and the gorgeous little village
Excellent service from very friendly and helpful young staff. Great vegetarian Sunday roast, good beer and surroundings. I recommend this pub whether a veggie or not as the meat dishes also looked well presented.
Favourite place I’ve eaten in a long while! The location is lovely, right on the water and in a very cute town. The menu was perfect, I’m a pescatarian and have found myself very bored of pub menus recently but this had loads of choice. I went for the fish cakes and they were perfect. My boyfriend had the thai style curry which was also great. If you’re a meat eater I’d recommend the pulled pork burger! The staff were exceptionally lovely. Huge thanks to our server who was tall with curly hair, and the lovely woman behind the bar who sorted a birthday cheesecake surprise for us. They had loads of beer on draught so we’ll be back for a summer time drink outside.
The food was really good. At the time of visit, it was very busy. Nevertheless, the staff were amazing and were patient with us as we were a big group.
