The People's Park - in Ballymena - truly is a delightful oasis, situated right in the heart of the town. Boasting beautifully landscaped gardens and meandering pathways, the park provides a serene escape for both locals and visitors alike. One of the highlights is the charming little pond, where you can often spot ducks, geese, and swans enjoying their day. With seating available alongside the pond, it’s a joy to watch the ducks - and especially so for families with young children. My little niece always has a brilliant time here, and it’s become a favourite family activity for us, during the warmer weather! There’s ample parking opportunities, an onsite ice-cream van, and while the centre is typically empty, there’s a tiny portable eatery just down a bit from it. If you’re in need of company, there’s actually a yellow bench called the ‘Chatty Bench’ - which is really lovely to see. My little niece gives this place a glowing five star review, and I concur!
First time here.A bit disappointed with the conservatory deck as the door was locked. Nice to walk around, not many flowers though. Park is nice and clean.
Beautiful place, so much 2 c. Ducks, geese & swans in the pond, kids play parks, skating area & tennis courts. Lovely walk lined with trees, shrubs, flowers, squirrels, many birds. Just beautiful
I enjoy going to the People’s Park, albeit a bit of a horrible memory I slipped on algae and leaves on the 20th of October 2017 and broke my shoulder really badly. It was a very long and excruciating journey for almost 2 to 3 years nnYears ago there used to be a little cafe but it has gone and I noticed there's a mobile facility in the grounds now.nnThere are a few walking trails around the park, with sculptures which are quite interesting. A lot has changed in the past few years, a new skateboard park is available for those who enjoy the sport.nnThe children's play areas are still available, tennis court. Thank God the ducks, pigeons and swans are still in the lake, which is also in the grounds. Plenty of summer seats placed around and a number of picnic tables are available. It's quite a spacious area to wander around just don't break your bones
The playground here is fantastic, took our little one here and it was really secure and plenty of space to run about in.nnThe addition of the skate park and scenic walks really make this a real asset for the town. Would definitely recommend you stop by.
