Pentewan Sands Holiday Park

About

Discover the magic of Pentewan Sands, a 5 Star Holiday Park on the south coast of Cornwall, with its magnificent coastline and luscious green countryside.

Story

Our 5 star family holiday park has been established over 60 years and during that time we've worked hard to provide a range of excellent on-site facilities and perfect the kind of warm welcome and friendly hospitality our guests love. No wonder so many couples and families come back to us year after year!

Products

Our award winning park has a wide selection of luxury holiday homes and large level touring pitches, most with electric hook-ups, all of which are near our excellent facilities and close beside our own superb exclusive beach.

Our beach with its fine sand and clean blue sea is recommended by the Marine Conservation Society and has its own slipway where small boats may be hand launched making it ideal for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and other water sports. For reasons of safety we do not permit the use of jetskis or accept them on to the site.

Would have given it 5 stars, there's not much to moan about. Incredibly clean, staff are lovely, great facilities, it's on a beach with all sorts of options of what to do. The pools are fabulous. The food is very good, albeit a tad expensive, there could be cheaper options. The only big thing, is that it's missing anything to do in the evenings. It could really do with some sort of events schedule. I get that they want to be slightly more upmarket, but the entertainment could be slightly more refined if that's what they are aiming for. The total lack of anything to do discourages holiday bondings. Otherwise, awesome thanks
Great touring site with slipway and water sport hire shop and beach. Not many touring sites with a private beach. Sand isn't great for sandcastles however you can lay on it! There's even rock pools for kids to explore. Playground on the the beach. It's perfect for water mad people. The toilets are large and clean. There's bins a plenty. The pitches are uniformed so you are packed in with even amounts of space. The shop is well stocked and there's a pub. There are changes happening with the bar/entertainment area so may take a while to get right. Arcade area is nice but feels compact. There's food/eatery's onsite however only use the hub box which obviously is dreamy being on the beach.
Just spent a week in a Static Caravan here and what a Fantastic time we had. It's own beach within 5 minutes walk... beautifully kept toilet blocks, well stocked shop on site, chips are lovely from the site chippy... There is nothing we coukd pick fault with so booked up for 2 weeks next year. Thanks
Usually come down for a week or two because it is only an hour away from where I live and I know the area very well. Great park with good sized pitches east access to beach and lots of great walks on the south west coastline path. For anyone who has never been I recommend going to mevagissy and possibly the china clay museum past st Austell if you want to try something new out.
Popped in for a quick weekend. Staff were amazing. Showers were amazing. The view was amazing. We had takeaway from Hub Box. The food was amazing. All in all an amazing place to stay
This holiday was one of my favourite family holidays, such a lot of thought has been put into the layout of the caravans and the beauty of the site, along with catering and assistance by staff who are both friendly and result driven by emotional intelligence! We heard a disturbing family argument in the middle of the night, security must also have heard them then the next thing we heard was that they were asked to leave
Fab very large campervan, camping and motor home site, right on the beach. Beach is beautiful, with lovely sand and a few rock pools to explore. Beach has good facilities with food and Watersports. Site has good shop for basics, restaurants Hub Box was excellent swimming pool, and kids play area. Couple of negatives. The WiFi can be hit and miss, fortunately we got a pitch in front of the access point, so it worked great for us. Other negative is the site has hardly any lighting at night, so take a good torch or two. Shower and toilet facilities are first rate. Despite the large size the grounds are well kept. Bus stop outside the site if you need to get away without driving.
Great holiday park, right on the sea. Beautiful surroundings. Clean & well maintained. Life guard swimming pool. Fun pool & a lap pool. Arcade. Wonderful restaurant and bar, with friendly staff. Children's entertainment. Lots to do & travel distance to other towns & villages.
The size of the pitches were absolutely amazing, the site was clean and well maintained. Access to the beach was the biggest plus point, and sadly we did not get the best weather but not the campsites fault!! Only downside was the lack of evening entertainment and the teeny tiny arcades. Oh and the lack of free Wi-Fi in the area. It would of been ok if we had signal on our phones, but unfortunately it was a black spot and you had to rely on the Wi-Fi on site, which was expensive for a week £25 for 4 devices, with 7 of us having mobiles, it was double the amount! What was worse though was the fact that the Wi-Fi was intermittent at best. Kept logging on and off the whole time!
We’ve been coming here for almost 30 years and although the park has gone through some changes over that time, the feel of the place is still there. The park is situated in the south coast of Cornwall about 7 miles from St Austall. Pentewen sands offers static caravans and camping/caravaning pitches which electric hookup and on some plots water feeds. In recent times the park has invested in a new ‘entertainment’ complex with restaurant, coffee shop, ‘lap’ pool and fun pool and bar. There is also a large shop that sells wonderful pasty’s, basic food supplies, small clothing section and trinkets, a fish and chips shop and ‘The Hideaway’ which is a small bar that is cosy and offers local beers and a game of pool. On site and one of the best features is the Hub Box - this is a bar and eatery that sits right on the beach with amazing views of the clear blue sea. On a summers evening with the lights on there is no better place to be. Talking of beach, there is also the ability to hire Kayaks, motor boats, paddle boards, wetsuits etc so your water sports are all taken care of. There is WiFi across the park but it’s fair to say this is hit and miss. We stayed 2nd week of September and it was ‘ok’. We did have a connection but it dropped quiet frequently. It’s fine for basic surfing, but may not be quiet up to the task of streaming without the odd drop off. There are other parts of the park that may fare better so if WiFi is important make sure you discuss this upon booking to ensure your service it’s also not free, there are various packages but we paid £25 for 4 devices for 1 week. Overall, Pentewan Sands is a wonderful place to stay. It’s easy to get from there to Truro, Newquay - even St Ives and Penzance are only about 1.5hours away and are on direct routes. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place - especially if you go just off season and manage to get a bargain caravan. It does get very busy in high season so booking a long way in advance is the best way to secure your family holiday.
