I stayed in this hotel for one week while attending a conference at the Manchester Convention Center a separate venue from the hotel. I found the Pendulum Hotel satisfactory, but nothing more. I arrived early in the morning and the hotel was able to hold my suitcase while I explored Manchester before checking in, which I appreciated. The room was small, rather dim, and appeared dated. That was okay with me because the room felt clean, which is the most important aspect of a hotel room for me. Since there was no air conditioning, the room did get quite hot during the day even though it was cold and dark outside. I would not want to stay there during a heat wave. The hotel breakfast was tasty. I would have preferred larger cups to hold the coffee and smaller spoons. The spoons were enormous for some reason. The rooms also only had body wash and hand soap, no shampoo or conditioner, so I had to go out and buy my own. The safety lock was also broken off the inside of my door. I probably wouldn't stay here again, but I also don't have any intentions of returning to Manchester. Rooms: The rooms in this hotel are extremely tiny, outdated, and basic. They also did not have air conditioning, but the hotel does provide you with a fan. The rooms were clean and they do also provide an electric tea kettle and some refreshments. There is no refrigerator or microwave. Nearby activities: There are a lot of activities, like museums, restaurants, pubs, in downtown Manchester which are easy to access by walking. Walkability: The neighborhood is very walkable and is close to a lot of train, bus, and tram stations. Food & drinks: The hotel has a breakfast option. The breakfast is affordable and is a full English breakfast. It opens at 7am on the weekdays and 8am on the weekends.
I had my wedding at Pendulum, and it was perfect for our budget. The staff was accommodating, especially with our request for halal catering. The venue was beautiful, and the service exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for a budget-friendly wedding! Thank you Roline for being so nice and helpful <3Rooms: 4/5
We held a national conference at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and attentive. We were offered excellent technical support in the conference room and the large number of delegates were well catered for with tasty food. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean and the breakfast was good. The hotel is in an excellent position , close to Piccadilly station and five minutes walk from the lively bars and restaurants of Manchester Walkability: Easy walking to stations, bars, clubs, restaurants and sights such as Art gallery, Town Hall and museums Food & drinks: Good breakfast and excellent conference catering
Great staff, some rooms can be a little smaller, but our last stay had a large, comfortable space, breakfast usually great, though it can vary day to day! Nice bar and courtyard and of course the ever hypnotic pendulum. Well recommended as close to centre but not right in the middle. Easy parking nearby helps too.Rooms: 4/5
I didn't stay as a guest, but I attended a convention there. Which the room was amazing for because it had very large round tables. The room size was also very large and perfect for our needs. Reception also had a few snacks for sale. Also there is an actual pendulum in the middle of the hotel. Where it gets it's name and it looks fantastic.
We stayed just for 1 night, I was happy to stay as it was quite central to the city for the price however it definitely is a case that you get what you pay for. Service was average, the main light in our hotel room was not working but could not get anyone to help with that. Equally the corridors smelt of smoke which was not pleasant. We were woken at 0830 from housekeeping slamming doors around us which was unexpected. All in all, an average stay but I’m not in a rush back.
Stayed at the Pendulum Hotel on business in a single room for one night. The room was small but clean and functional. There was all the usual hotel room equipment you would expect. There was some noise in the night from the university halls of residence opposite. Breakfast was nice enough with various cooked and other items.Rooms: 3/5
It is a very nice hotel: the members of the staff are all really kind, the single and double rooms are really comfortable, the breakfast is great and you can watch football at the Garden Bar. And this hotel is really close to the train station and the Manchester University. Thank you for the pleasant stay!Rooms: 5/5
Chose this hotel as it was 10 minutes walk from train station. Lobby was clean and professional. Looked like a convention type hotel. Room was a little small but was complete. I liked the breakfast spread, it was value for money. If pre order, it’s less than £10. Spent £73 for room with 2 breakfast included. Recommended. Food & drinks: Breakfast was great. Good spread.
Decent place, nothing to write home about. I stayed a night here for the SRA convention. The staff were nice enough to not charge me for a slightly late check out due to the conference. Very average food and facilities - not worth the price. There is a nice garden area however.Rooms: 3/5
