The Pelican Inn - really beautiful little place with a really nice menu. The owners are new and really welcoming - they have dog treats on the bar, a thirst aid station for water refills and sweets for the children..we phoned ahead and booked a table for dinner Sunday dinner - really nice! And stayed to watch the Lionesses bring it home which was magic! Nice car park for an overnight stay in a camper but always call ahead to check they have availability and book a table in to eat and lovely walks locally. Food great, welcome great, location great. Cant ask for more really. If you are staying in a motorhome - earplugs! The pub is wonderfully quiet but there are cars and lorries on the main road all night. The rest of the family slept well but I am a v light sleeper.
Really friendly staff. The food was straight forward, but I really enjoyed my meal. Would happily come here again. The pub is an inn, so it is possible to lodge here.
Lovely pub and staff. We wanted to have something to eat but were told the kitchen was shut and the pub was closing in 20 min, however it was only lunchtime. A bit disappointing.
Called in as passing on long trip, saw "open all day everyday". Kitchen still cooking although later in afternoon. Ordered fish and chips. Had the best piece of lovely fish. Better that most chippies. Definitely real white Cod, top class batter. Plus a nice pint. I highly recommend.
A very welcoming pub that caters for the entire family. Offers a wide ranging menu that didn't disappoint any of us. Good quality and a fair price. Special mention to the owners daughter who took special care of the youngest member of our group. She definitely wants to go back to the Pelican
We stayed a night in one of their rooms, and had a drink in the bar. The accommodation was basic, but had everything you need. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were allowed to bring our dog with us too, both in the room and the bar. They had also provided a sofa bed for us so our daughter had somewhere to sleep. Very happy, would definitely stay again.
Recently came under new management, Exceptional experience, kind and generous staff, delightful location close to Stonehenge. The rooms and accommodations were nice and safe, the food was fantastic, the pub has a genuine and authentic atmosphere that was extremely friendly. It’s a very family friendly place by the way.
Me and the Mrs absolutely loved our stay, Lionel was an absolute hero and made our stay what it was. The locals are so welcoming and we had the best time ever even considering it was a Thursday ! We are returning again to meet the same gang next month! Highly recommend Ps mark is a legend. H & J
We stopped in for some food on the way past and enjoyed the home cooked food. It was tasty and glad we stopped here. Looks like it would be a nice place for an evening meal.
Lovely place not far from stonehenge, chalet-style rooms, I stayed with my girlfriend for two nights for winter solstice. Place was clean and modern on the inside even though it's a 200 plus year old pub. Warm too. Very reasonable price on the room and drinks. Unfortunately the chef was off sick so we couldn't order food but Lionel at the bar was kind to offer to do us some anyway, and even helped us work out our way to stonehenge and back, his friend helped us with a lift! Couldn't recommend highly enough, lovely place, lovely people, very likely will visit again
