Amazing! Best pub I’ve been to in ages. The food was incredible, the best burger I’ve ever had at a pub for sure! The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was great, food was tasty and there was a good selection of beers and craft ales on tap. Would go again if I’m in the area. top notch
Lovely village pub great food and nice cosy feel to it
Went for a pub lunch great location full of the yocals! We had to wait quite awhile for our food to arrive but when it did it was delicious Would recommend it to anyone who likes to go off the beaten track!!
Been coming here for many years, five times since Lockdowns started March 2020, most recently last week. This is a great country pub. Please note the following... No WiFi available, also very patchy mobile signal around here. Menu on the blackboard/s only. This is a quirky/old fashioned way but it does mean that unless you are sitting nearby, you have to get up close, or stare across other tables to check it over. Ambiance. There is a great sense of history here as soon as you enter this 16th century establishment, and I believe that the owners have been here for 23 years, obviously doing much the same things right, throughout this impressive tenure. Some of the tables are a wee bit small and maybe too close to other diners if privacy is what you want. Otherwise, it is well laid out and a separate back room area is available with larger tables. What makes it so special/other points:- 1. Fabulous food, good portion sizes, brilliant. 10/10 2. Good beers and other drinks options. 3. Clean loos. 4. Good size car park. 5. Lovely local walks, dog friendly. 6. V polite and helpful staff. 7. Booking essential I feel although walk-ins were looked after. We will definitely keep coming back...
It was a lovely surprise to come across this pub on my road trip to Wiltshire and had some much needed refueling under the sunshine. The food were amazing and we feel absolutely welcome. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone.
Very nice village pub. Had a lovely Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Several nice ales on handpump. Reasonably priced, nice staff and service. Hopefully back soon.
What a fantastic proper pub. Lovely cosy ambience, very friendly staff and locals and superb food freshly cooked to order. Excellent!
Food was wonderful! Absolutely loved it! There was only one cook however he was very generous and brought our food out to us. I highly recommend the ultimate burger, squid and rhubarb crisp!
Fab small pub with friendly staff and great chefs. Delicious specials covering all kinds of light bites, burgers, etc - but beyond a standard pub grub menu - and a good range of ciders, beers and spirits.
Excellent food and service, friendly pub with a great menu choice!
