We went for Sunday lunch. First time I have been there & bumped in to two sets of people I knew. Very nice atmosphere. Staff lovely & helpful . Prices middling. Food was absolutely fantastic & a big plateful. Puddings lovely.
Fab food, good service. Fish was enormous. I would still have liked a few more chips
Had a great Sunday afternoon family lunch after a visit to Stonehenge. We enjoyed freshly cooked and very hot fish and chips and steak&ale pie with lots of vegetables beside. Everything was delicious and we ended it with a amazing brownie with vanilla ice cream. We spent around one hour and a half inside and felt very welcomed at all time, staff was friendly and well mannered.
In these tough times, going out for a meal is a treat. At the same time businesses are obviously finding it difficult with the cost of things. This has never been more obvious than at a recent visit to the Earl. The quality of food has definitely taken a stumble and, after expressing disappointment, it was explained by the waitress that to keep costs the same, the quality of supplies has been massively reduced and cheaper ingredients have been sourced. Unfortunately that is evident in the meals. The menu has also changed and the options available are limited. The service was also slow and took over an hour to get a meal when it wasn't busy. The website needs updating. I don't know about you, but I always like to have a good nosey at a menu before I go anywhere, but when you select the menus on the site it doesn't work. You can't always expect to get perfect reviews if the service has significantly dropped. Unfortunately it appears the staff and landlady here can not accept honest feedback. At no point was it rude, just honest. How can you expect a business to thrive and grow if you do not listen to all, good and bad. It was clearly taken personally which has added to an overall upsetting and disappointing experience. Hospitality business isn't for all.
Lovely food, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended! Photo is the Earl Burger.
You need to visit here. Such a fantastic friendly and homely atmosphere
I love this pub, beautiful views, great staff, food is incredible, I highly recommend. Good parking availablity. Dog friendly. Vegi options. Amazing all round. Oh and log fire
This pub has the most delicious food,it's tasty,it's really hot & there's lots of it & the desserts are a must, the staff are friendly & accommodating when 2 of our party of 9 dropped out
Wonderful location. Very welcoming staff who couldn't of done more for us. My better half had Steak and Ale pie which came with chips, wonderful gravy and a great selection of veggies. I myself had Fish and Chips with peas and tartare sauce. Both meals were huge and delicious. We shall be back without a doubt and are determined to sample the desserts. Many thanks. Update 05/03/2019 Went for Sunday lunch and once again the food was faultless. Tasty, plentiful and hot. Every one of our 4 person party was satisfied and very full. Thank you once more for a lovely meal.
Nice warm friendly pub with a good selection of ales. The lunch menu is tasty and reasonably priced
