This was my first time visiting this restaurant. Upon arrival we were greeted by the waitress who took us to our table straight away. Drinks were brought over promptly before our orders were taken around 5 minutes later. The food was delicious and fresh, and each course took around 10 minutes to be brought out. The staff were attentive and professional, and asked how our meals were throughout the experience. Portion sizes were perfect for a three course lunch. The interior was a fair size, and there is also an upstairs dining area for groups/events. Overall I would visit again in the future. Only drawback would be the limited number of parking spaces outside. Kid-friendliness: Restaurant borders on fine dining so not appropriate for young kids. Parking: Approximately 20 parking spaces. Quite limited.
Great treat night out, it is unique and definitely something to remember a spacial occasion. The food was extraordinary but pay attention and choose wisely when the food is presented as the beef meal was overpowered by the horse radish. Overall a great selection of meals and all very tasty, we struggled to fit in all of the courses but they do offer a take out if you can't fit the desert and cheese board in. Be prepared for a late one as dinner at 8 finished after 11, so late taxi or drive home. Not cheap but very special.
Came in for Sunday lunch with a large group. Menu had varied options without being unnecessarily large. I went with the chicken liver parfait for my appetiser and the lamb for my main. Food arrived at well paced intervals and was always at the correct temperature. A lovely afternoon out. I would highly recommend as a Sunday option.
Lovely Afternoon Tea and Gent's Afternoon Tea which we shared between the two of us to increase the selection even more. Plenty of great food and a box provided to take away anything you can't finish. The only comment is that the two sandwiches were the same and couldn't be changed, but that certainly didn't detract. Bar drinks are also available to increase your dining choice. Parking: Plenty of spaces when we there. Wheelchair accessibility: Access is available, but you need to have both doors open so you may need a little help, but this shouldn't stop you going .
Really nice place for a meal to celebrate something special. The design and decor is beautiful. And the outside Gardens look lovely. Staff beautifully dressed and very attentive.
Went here for the evening menu. Every course was nice, especially the beef bouginyon which was delicious, though I'd have preferred more sauce. Seeing what food options before choosing is good and adds a unique experience, but the waiting staff although lovely, came across as a bit impersonal and too scripted. There were so many cakes to choose from I forgot the first few. A menu for cakes would have been handy. Prices highbut reasonable for this kind of restaurant No music Wheelchair friendly Not dog friendly Had no problems with parking Smart/ smart casual wear
I had high expectations about Pecks from what I had heard . But I was disappointed with the lunch time menu . The starter was chicken liver pate swirl on a baked pastry , very small portion glad we were served some bread with it ...my main Turkey with bubble n squeak was dry, I had to request some gravy which was not offered nor was any cranberry sauce . Half of a small boiled potato quartered , a small carrot and a battered end of a parsnip , a turkey breast slice without any gravy it was dry . Cheesecake amazing .. Staff warm and friendly and a nice atmosphere to the restaurant, Based on this I doubt I would return in a hurry . But puds to go are on the cards someday ,, rum n raisin cheesecake , or key lime pie ...
Lots of well cooked food. Great service. Flavourings could be stronger but meat for the main not pictured was very tender.
Had a lovely 10th anniversary "dinner at 8" @pecks it was great being able to see the dishes before making a decision and I enjoyed every course. There's are lots of dessert options and if you can't decide you can have a half portion of 2 different ones, then you can opt for either a cheese course or ANOTHER DESSERT. That said we were throuroughly stuffed after our first dessert course so we opted to have our cheese/dessert to take away. There was also the option of tea/coffee to finish. My only negative comment is that we were there over 20 minutes before being offered a drink, this would have been OK if there had been water on the table but we were served appetisers before any drinks were provided meaning that when I ate something I hadn't tried before there was nothing to wash away the taste... Once we had our first drinks we were not offered another for a significant amount of time and my husband had to ask repeatedly if he could get another drink before they came to get his order. As others have said the interactions with servers are very scripted to the point that one nervously asked if we were celebrating a special occasion at which point my husband looked pointedly at the happy anniversary balloons above us As we were leaving I asked what the "petit fours" we would have been served with the coffee were out of curiosity... none of them had any idea, went to ask the kitchen and never returned... It would be better if each server had designated tables, checked you had enough water/drinks throughout the dinner service. Overall though great food, great concept and I would definitley go again for a special occasion.
I have to say, looking at other peoples afternoon teas, looks like we picked the wrong one. The concept of the gentleman's afternoon tea was interesting, but falls short. While the scones, beef sandwiches and fish chip butty were nice. The cottage pie, was surprisingly devoid of taste and cold. Considering cottage pie is one of the easiest meals to make and reserve, this was poor. Beyond underseasoned. Now it being cold, does sometimes happen when they're busy. In their defence, they did provide a replacement that was warm. But still, entirely tasteless. Like they didn't use any stock. The other negative, was being in the corner it was hard to get service. Considering we did book, it was a poor seat with a long wait for service. On another day with a different order and table, these things might not have happened. Could have had an entirely positive review, as many others had. But sometimes it goes this way I suppose.
