The pub is grotty and needs a good clean. You can see built up food caked around the table legs. Toilets are really outdated and dirty on the walls etc. whole place needs a good clean.nWaiting staff rushed off their feet.nI was ordering at the bar & being served when the manager came up and told the person taking our food order to make drinks for another customer. So they had to stop mid serving me and start that.nThere was a huge group in when we were there that were incredibly rowdy. I know they were celebrating someone's birthday but they were shouting, swearing, had no respect for other diners - why they weren't asked to stop with the bad language, I don't know. The food was okay, portion sizes were reasonable. Some of the food was overdone.nMy partner asked for some mustard and the waitress came over the with the jug from the carvery saying we've got this left over, god knows how long it has been sat out in the open. Long enough to have a film over it anyway! We tried to order carvery on the app, it took our payment etc, only to be told it had finished!nHonestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a pub. I feel really sorry for some of the staff members.
I was here with family as we live between Scotland and England, with one member living in Cheshire, so the carvery was a good meeting and eating destination.nnFirstly staff were welcoming and very helpful. The food was fantastic enjoyed by all. I had to ask for thinner meat slices as the portions were very generous.nnAll food freshly cooked and very tasty. Then we all had desert which didn't disappoint, and a good selection of drinks.nnWe all agreed good service, great atmosphere as it gave a family time together, as we rarely gather, so it helped to make our gathering special, it was also good value for money.
Attended breakfast with Santa on 24/12/25. Arrived and it was soft play for an hour first I thought this would be absolutely rammed but it wasn’t it was lovely Maisy working on the soft play counter was lovely coming around asking what the children had asked for ect. Considering it was busy she still made the effort to do so. Afterwards it was breakfast in the pub side - breakfast was lovely and not rushed at all, my youngest is so fussy and Maisy went back into the kitchen and got me something that she would eat which was amazing! Followed by a gift from Santa.
Absolutely shocking! Arrived 4 adults 6 children, was told we could have a table for an hour and half, which was fine, we didnt book as it wouldnt let us online i think because there was 10 of us? but we understood because of a birthday party so we paid for the children, we were told to order on the app. So as soon as we sat down we ordered on the app, all had main meals and sides and a few drinks, spent at least £150 easy. Myself and my friend ordered on the app and sent the order through at the same time. My friends meals were put down on the table and the woman said because we ordered on the app we would have to wait for ours and we should have gone up to the entrance to order food, baring in mind we were told different when we arrived. The drinks came and we ordered a few coca cola without ice, they came and it was absolutely shocking! The coke cup was half full and was told it's because we didnt have ice, I explained that we paid nearly £4 for it and she said she would speak to the manager, nobody came. Then our meals arrived and then after a few minutes had to ask for a main and sides as they'd not arrived. I had ordered steak and my partner had ordered mixed grill when our food was put down on the table we were told we can't give you steak knives so you'll just have to use a normal knife and the food was luke warm. I understand this as we are in a child's play area but how it was said was just unacceptable .My daughter was also told to get out of the play area, she is 9 years old, she came back to the table really upset about how the woman spoke to her. My partner went up to the main entrance and spoke to a member of staff and she said she thought she was an adult? She is 9 years old. She told my partner she could go back into the play area but by that time she refused as she was upset. Im really disappointed and with the entrance fees and food and drinks we all together spent easily over £150 for 80 minutes. I think the staff need to explain things better and there should be communication as being told one thing and then another isn't great.
The worst carvery I’ve ever attempted to eat by far. Had to spit it out it was that dry.nnThe lady was lovely however who offered a free meal which I politely declined as I ent want to eat there again! so we accepted a dessert.nnVery disappointed and a waste of an evening and money
