Went to watch boot leg blonde, and it was really good. Staff were very helpful, and the seating, etc, was spotless. Many thanks for a great night.
Very nice shopping place!
Attended a jazz event for the Buxton International Festival and loved it! The Pavilion is very nice and the staff were all super friendly. The event was outstanding, very good musicians! Very recommended
We attended the cinema to see Wonka a lovely venue Not expensive for a cinema visit.
I'm glad this place exists. It's the Opera house's little brother - it's less fancy, more utilitarian, but it still hosts some great shows, and it's more affordable. It's never horribly busy at the bar, it has beer and wine and snacks. We are lucky in Buxton to have places like this
Worth a look around at local art n crafts. As cafe , ice cream parlour, mini cinema n public toilets
Low prices and friendly staff, but the seats are diabolical, cheap thin seats with no legroom, I would love to go more I find the seating to uncomfortable to use for any length of time. I am 5.8 so not a giant either.
Lovely little cinema that combines a traditional feel with modernity. I particularly liked the sound system, which was very clear, and not deafeningly loud as some can be. The seating was well spaced and the lower position of the screen than in many cinemas meant no craning of my neck to look upwards. There was also sufficient lighting provided to enable patrons to leave their seats during the film, but not so bright as to be intrusive. The only reason for a lower than five star rating was the fact that my seat was a bit on the hard side and I was in a little discomfort, and needed to reposition myself quite regularly, but that may have just been my experience alone. My viewing companion seemed fine with his seat. If I could remove only half a star instead of a whole one for this reason I would. All in all an excellent venue that I would be happy to return to many times in future.
Very poor, bought tickets online and assumed as all the accompanying literature was about the Opera House that it would be in the same. Arrived 40 min early to find the main doors locked and other people wondering what was happening. Someone suggested it might be round the side of the building, so we found our way in to the Arts Centre. The actors could not be clearly heard, possibly due to the acoustic charcteristics of the building and not helped due to the noise from outside in the park. Dissapointing, left at the interval.
We went there this evening. It's got a great stage and you are never far away from it. I think the capacity is about 400. One thing I would say though is the bar is very slow because they decant the drinks which seems strange. If they really do need to decant the drinks, the bar staff should ask the customers to do it to double the speed of decantation. They'd sell more beer and quicker, allowing the customers to have a little longer enjoying the bar. If the business understands 5S and none value added waste reduction they'd see this suggestion as a very good one. I'll see if they read this post and go back to see if they've put it into operation. Great place and the act we saw was brilliant Gary Delaney. Thank you.
