About

Mothership Group bring you a heads down club with a bespoke bar, club and sea-facing terrace, paying homage to the sites musical roots.

Story

Standing on the humble grounds of its predecessor Audio. This new venture, helmed by London's Mothership Group, will continue the site's longstanding musical heritage, ushering in a new era with a redesigned bar, club and sea-facing terrace.

"With a hand-built DJ booth upstairs, powered by a bespoke Ohm PA, the ground floor is a hangout of lush sound where you can knock back cocktails and craft beers and enjoy a varied music programme. Stripped right back to expose original features, the light drenched ground floor is where monolithic mirrors meet with industrial concrete and green neon dances off Twin Peaks-esque wood panelling Downstairs is designed with sonic experience at the top of the agenda. After testing two of the world’s leading systems head-to-head in the space, Patterns opted for impeccable L’Acoustics sound system - a key component for live and DJ led acts alike."

Wow, this was a surprise, spacious upstairs with ample room even towards the end of the night when busy. It took me an hour to work out there was a downstairs. You literally feel like your walking into a cave, which could be quite daunting if it were not for the house music DJs creating a mad underworld party there. Terrific venue just off the seafront and if you blink you might miss it. Worth a visit whether social or in the mood for dancing.
Visited here yesterday for a birthday bottomless brunch and was really impressed with the amount of pizza and drinks that came around. We were well looked after, the venue is nice, staff were lovely - definitely got our moneys worth. Really good place to brunch in Brighton!
Had my 21st birthday party here on Saturday night 26th in the hidden room. Was really amazing, staff were very friendly and accommodating and special thanks to our bartender. Very happy with my experience and would 100% recommend. :
What a great venue! DJ setup upstairs, live venue downstairs, private room at the back and a large outdoor front overlooking the pier and seafront. I came to see Elephant Hawk support The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Sound was great downstairs with interesting lighting. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Reasonable pricing on drinks. Fun night out, thanks Poppy and staff!
Small club, big music, lovely vibe most nights. Staff are mostly music lovers too. Lovely decor and focus, great resident DJs and A grade bookings for headliners. Sound is punchy but rarely too loud.
Been to a few gigs at patterns and it's a small venue but decent sounds and your close to the bands. The huge pillar in the middle of the tiered standing area is very annoying but normally doesn't cause too much of a problem as everyone can move around it to see the bands, however with the mixing/lighting desk having been moved to rear Infront of the stage it was always to the right previously takes away a large amount of the standing capacity but I bet they haven't reduced the standing capacity? This now really restricts the viewing capacity of it's a sold out gig. Hopefully they will change this but I'll be hesitant about booking tickets for another gig there in the near future.
Had some great nights out here with amazing dubstep and drum and bass
I came here to attend a gig in the downstairs area. The bouncers were very rude, trying to stop my brother and I from entering the venue, despite us showing I.D. as asked. They even wished to see our bank cards too, which made no sense. We were held up so long, we almost missed the start of the gig. Clearly the management at this venue don't understand that customer experience should be a priority. Our night was ruined, and we shall not be returning. If you want to attend gigs in Brighton at smaller venues, I'd recommend Chalk and Concorde 2. Both are far better than this place.
Great venue to see live bands. Has a vivid vibe, plenty of security, cloak room and a bar. Watch out for their next gig and check out their website.
I visited Brighton Patterns tonight to watch TWRP after my partner surprised me with tickets for myself and a couple friends. I rely on a wheelchair during flare ups and with it being a surprise booked for me I didn’t get to organise my carers ticket or accessible area space so sent a panic email to them about 3 hours before the show started. I got a very quick response from Matt who was the manager working the evening and he was absolutely lovely. He gave me a number to call him on to get sorted and he was so helpful. He explained that it was taking place in the basement venue that didn’t have lift or ramp access but he could place us in a small separate area side of stage with seating where I wouldn’t be knocked by anyone and to ask for him on the door. When we arrived the size of the queue was terrifying as I knew it was a small venue and it’s never fun feeling like you’re in the way or to have people tripping over your chair. When we found security at the front we asked for Matt as advised and he remembered my name, asked how I was and closed off the line to allow my partner to help me get down the stairs on foot safely and without being tripped by others entering the venue. He gave me the choice to leave my wheelchair in the cloakroom or to have it with me folded to one side. Sitting in it wouldn’t have made sense as it had bar height seating side of stage but I still chose to have it with me to keep my medicine close and available if I needed it. I was so glad to be placed where I was as the room quickly became packed! My friends were even allowed to join me It wasn’t a room designed for accessibility with steps breaking up the space and on the way to the toilet but he really went out of his way to make sure I was ok. The sound from the side of the stage wasn’t the best as it’s right next to the drums- but who cares? I got to sit side of stage! It was an amazing night and Matt even came to check on me again before we left. Several members of staff also offered an arm to help me get up and down the stairs or with the chair too. I think if I wasn’t able to tackle the steps I felt they would have offered to carry me! Thank you to everyone who made it such a nice experience. Before the wheelchair I loved any chance to go see my favourite artists live and would have been happy stood in a pit for the night. Now not so much, I’ve been putting it off due to my mobility issues but now I know I can still go and enjoy music I love. It was my first time travelling to Brighton for a gig and now I think I’ll be making excuses/ searching for more gigs so I can come back to visit Brighton Patterns again. You guys are fab, Brogan
