quite nice food and service was good. However, steak pie not as good as many nice gastro pubs, cramped conditions and decor didn't match the price. It's trying to be a bit too fancy. Crumble wasn't the best either, though they did make the puddings look nice. I reckon you should stick to afternoon tea here. That looked interesting.

Afternoon tea was simply amazing. Surprisingly filling. Excellent selection of savoury and sweet foods. Nice tea. All served beautifully by wonderful staff.

Absolutely wonder atmosphere, brilliant cocktails, and wonderful food. The original and still the best. For a high-class evening that is not too snobby or expensive, Browns is the place.

Wonderful service from our two waiters. All 4 of us were unanimous in our praise for all courses, the hot sourdough bread with olive oil and the chocolate tort creating the greatest stir! But all dishes fab. Atmosphere great. Can't believe I've never been before. And all for roughly thirty quid a head.

Run down and a bit shabby. The food was average but not bad. The service was excellent though. It was courteous and they moved our table without quibbling to a better one.
