I love this library. It's a beautiful building for a start; huge and bright and airy. It's really peaceful for reading, or working etc. The computers are upstairs, away from the books. The staff are very friendly; the man with whom I spoke was very knowledgeable and happy to help. I hope to visit this library more often; it's pretty phenomenal.
The refurbishment that Partick Library has seen is fantastic. The new pc area is one of a kind and the architecture of the interior is well designed and suited for those with movement restrictions. They have a wonderful wing tailored for the use of young children. I often come here to study or a quiet read. Partick Library also offers many after hours clubs/activities for those with learning difficulties, an admirable course that all the other reviewers seem to miss out in their reviews. Fantastic study space highly recommend a visit to locals in need of study.
A place for a select niche of people that have no awareness of personal boundaries or the most basic levels of human consideration and manners. Instead of a culture of practiced silence that you’d expect from a library setting, you are bombarded with a cacophony of snorting, coughing and slurping from the seated mouth-breathing animals that have never grasped the concept of covering their mouths or blowing their noses - despite the establishments toilets being well-known by the general public. Upstairs, the PC-using general public take telephone calls wherein the openly share their personal lives and compromising information as if they have a hearing impairment, drunks groan and fall off chairs, and football scores are listening to on full. The staff are entirely disinterested and perfectly content to chat amongst themselves until paper needs refilled in the printer or the clock approaches 5pm.
Totally loving Partick Library. I have been coming here every day for the last 4 weeks. It's a brilliant place to write my books. There is a large study space, including two study booths, which are great. There is also Free WiFi, although this is rather slow when it gets busy. There is a dedicated children's library, with lots of kids events during the week. Free tea and coffee to, which is great. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Love the library and think this is a great community hub.
Quiet initially, until some loud talking guys came in. Not sure why the staff didn't caution them because they kept talking all through till they left. No electric sockets by the central reading tables, downstairs. It's mostly on the end walls. Still a great place for me to read when I am awaiting my dental appointment at BUPA dental practice. Partick East.
I love the place, there are thousands of books you can select from. You can come and find this place to be a very quite and classic
Good place to read books, use computer, printer or scanner
The kids always want to stay longer , sometimes they bring out games such as chess , checkers , Scrabble , colouring in and free book marks .
Very helpful. You can use the computer, print documents, scan and edit documents,
Thanks to a Review on here by Michelle Laherty, if I remember correctly throughout the summer I managed to score some really amazing gear from Barry on Uist Street, Govan. So thanks there Michelle. Nice one. Joking aside, and let's be honest her Review is well worth laughing at, Partick Library is a typical small library and like all small libraries the staff often get irritable the council's Health & Safety mandated temperature makes small libraries incredibly stuffy, and then there's the boredom. Those aren't excuses. They are just realities. Those staff members are paid to serve us and should do so but as with any job serving the public, there are always pluses and minuses.
