This is an amazing and inspiring place. It is a library and also museum/gallery dedicated to women. Their books are by or about women's lives, history and contributions. There is a changing exhibition programme too. If you are just browsing there are places to sit and read. Or if you are looking for something specific the staff are amazing and friendly. It is a great place for anyone of any gender to go and you will be welcomed.
Glasgow Women's Library is inside a stunning heritage building and the staff are always so friendly and knowledgable. I have attended three events here one with my mum - cute : , and have been so impressed with the diversity of feminist thought I have encountered - spanning the history of protest, to class and poetry, to LGBTQ+ zines, and so much more. I think it is truly pathetic that TERFs have been targeting place and harassing its staff, just because this place is trans inclusive. As a cis woman and feminsit I wouldn't want it to be any other way than it is =] Love to all the staff and volunteers, keep up the amazing work.
GWL is a warm, refreshing, welcoming and safe space for visitors, learners and staff. You will always be welcomed with a big, warm smile. You will be offered a tea or coffee of your choice and be welcomed as part of their own family. There are shelves of books pertaining to incredible feminist and activist histories of the past and recent present. I highly recommend all non fiction, fiction and poetry which are housed from different languages and cultures too. From the reception and some signs around the space, you will be signposted to the lined up workshops and events GWL is part of. You will also be offered an entire tour of the huge space covering how it was brought about and its story since 1991. I have worked on my placement at GWL and it's my most favorite place in the entire world. I am confident the library will evoke something beautiful for each and every person that visits and becomes its part. Lastly, membership is free and for life

So excited to live nearby here, and finally had a chance to check it out to do some studying in after being harassed on my campus library. Coming in, you feel a sense of welcome, you're greeted by the staff and they're more than happy to show you around and help you out. Plenty of space to study do be aware that it this isn't a silent venue, but they do have designated quiet spaces should they be hosting an event and learn about women's history. They're also incredibly accessible, not just for those with physical disabilities but neurodivergent people as well. Their website has everything you may possibly need to know about visiting. They have stimming objects available and a photographic guide online on accessing the library with details on where the toilets are, seats, galleries, etc which is incredibly helpful for someone like me with social struggles. Setting up a lending card took only minutes, and comprised of filling out a brief form and being handed a card which can be instantly used. I also applaud that they are trans and non-binary inclusive, and their events that are "womens only" are open to trans/nb people as well. It is also a convenient location with the train station only a brief walk away and several bus routes stopping at the end of the street. They also host regular events, something I see many places struggle with, but is such a need to the community especially those who are not Scottish and needing connection. I am so glad I found this online and paid a visit.
We booked with the Glasgow Women's Library as part of a University summer programme and our students enjoyed both the building and what they had learning during their time at the museum. Very easy to navigate to using public transport as well.
Glasgow Women's Library is a warm and welcoming space. The staff and volunteers were endlessly helpful and I could have browsed their excellent collection all day. They had a lovely exhibition in their event space when I visited and the newly renovated building is stunning. A Glasgow gem!
A wonderful little library that often hosts exhibitions and talks, and has a great collection of women's historical paraphernalia. The staff are friendly, and the whole place just feels rather cosy.
I stumbled upon on this place in Glasgow by chance and absolutely loved the idea. There is wide variety of books written by women for women. We need more places like this.
Very welcoming library with historical significance and a great place to read, write, chill. Lovely cosy spaces, lovely staff.
