Great place and lovely staff. Particular thanks to the staff member who took time to chat graphic novels with my daughter today, inspiring the next generation, and thanks to her colleague for swiftly sorting a new library card. Top team!
Moderate sized but quite varied collection, easy to navigate and with themed displays if you want to try something new and aren't sure what to go for. Very helpful staff, and a number of seating areas and computers for public use.
Gergana Tsvetanova's negative comment about Partick Library is completely uncalled for and just plain wrong. I have used both Hillhead and Partick libraries and found staff in both always helpful and pleasant. It would be a very sad day for the people of Partick if Partick Library was closed as Gergana suggested.
A large library, to organize here the attractions associated with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poland's independence, is a fantastic idea.
Staff are nice and helpful, the two times in the last 10 years I've had to use the library to print stuff they've been very good. The council should just close the useless Partick branch and extend the opening times of Hillhead library
Practically permanent closed the last 2 years with "covid" as an excuse of course. I ve no clue where these positive reviews are coming from. We are not all "posh", if you need to work in order to survive you have actually ZERO access to that library as it's barely open just for a few hours during the week, best scenario. And just an example: Patrick library is always open. There is no "covid" for Patrick library?
An excellent library with plenty of computers and free wifi. The library also stocks DVDs and other digital media. It's a great place to get paperwork done. I often use the computers to print out postage labels and letters and things like that. The young girl at the desk is rude and not friendly and so is the security guard but that's my only criticisms. Both these people tried to rush me away because they couldn't be bothered. I will continue to use this library.
Even though the building and fittings are shabby and down at heel, this 1970's brutalist box houses an adequate library serviced by generally helpful and friendly staff. Free computer use for Glasgow Library members is often restricted to one hour online at busy times. There is a children's area and computer training courses and other events are often held in the library and upstairs conference room. Like any library, there is the usual transient population of people just keeping out of the cold or off the street, but in this sense the library performs a broader social function. Two Xerox machines for photocopying and computer print outs. I've always found the staff to be extremely patient and helpful when assisting with computer queries and other matters. The computers could do with being updated as they are quite old and often very slow, but I suppose that's down to budget restraints. Support your local library by using it, a wonderful social service.
One if the better selections of graphic novels in the city libraries
Is this a library or a children's creche? On all accounts, I don't know since any semblance of silence in order to concentrate is pretty rare. Toilets are constantly broken for extended periods of time - obviously plumbers are perplexed....be prepared to interrupt your study to nip over to Waitrose if you need a pee.
