Fresh British sourced produce. The sour dough bread was warm like it came straight from the oven and the butter looked like it was freshly churned. I thought I could eat anything and everything until I saw offal on the menu. The dishes sound pretty far fetched but they were really tasty! The set menu was also good value for money and included a glass of bubbly. Each course was yummy, I'm tempted to try the tasting menu next time and even open to trying some offal. Wheelchair access: Step free entrance with accessible toilets, but the area around the restaurant is a bit cobbly. Once you're in, you'll be fine.
An interesting taster menu, quite adventurous and excellent cooking throughout. The food was excellent, if not striving a little too much to be adventurous and unique. Wine pairing was great, however the service was patchy and so we ended up with duplicates of some glasses and out of sync towards the end of the meal. Overall worth a visit, lovely feel underneath the arches and some excellent potential if a little unpolished.
Had the tasting menu & wine pairing. Really enjoyed the experience, particularly the thyme-infused G&T, smoked cod croquettes, roasted leeks and the Welsh lamb rib. Good pacing and service too.
Neal's Yard pop-up. The pork dish was easily the best I had this year so far, but everything else was nothing to rave about. Hence, I didn't feel like the prices were justified
There are less options now on the set menu, however everything was delicious as usual and the service was as great as ever.
Excellent food. Great combinations, all delivered with balance and depth. The meat is lovely, although not the main attraction -- its the veg combinations that bring these dishes to life. Excellent service too. Recommend the tasting menu and wine pairing. Totally recommend - if you can get a booking.
This was a lovely and affordable dining experience. We were the first people in the door at 6PM and welcomed by an exceptionally lovely staff. Credit to those waitresses- all night our glasses were full and they made conversation easy rather than forced. They were also happy to recommend drinks and choices which I always enjoy. We decided to go for the tasting menu, which value was is really incredible. My partner had the normal tasting and I had the vegetarian £45 and £35 respectively. The cocktails I had at Paradise Garage were honestly my favourite thing about the meal. I found them very well thought out and balanced. The vegetarian menu felt fresh: lots of raw ingredients, simple pairings, and bright colours from fresh produce. I enjoyed everything that was put before me, though I did feel the flavours were very subtle. There wasn't a lot of stand out moments on the menu, but at £35 for 7 courses and each of them well thought out I don't feel that is a slight against the restaurant. If I was going to make a nit-picking compliant, it would only be that I was still hungry after my meal. I went home and made toast. Obviously tasting menus are smaller portions, but even after opting in for cheese my stomach definitely was left wanting more substance! My partner was completely satisfied, probably as he had a lot more protein in his tasting. He felt one of the most interesting ideas on there was lamb and snails - definitely something I haven't seen before. Really lovely restaurant, great concepts, excellent staff, great bar, amazing value for money - we've already agreed between us we would definitely go back. I'm giving it 5 stars even if I was hungry afterwards because we had a lovely evening and after £35 - I could afford another bite anyway ;
The good: Very friendly attentive staff. The lamb was delicious and the Bloody Mary was one of the best I've ever had. The bad: the food is very overpriced for the quantity and quality of ingredients it is extremely well prepared however. The wines were average and some of the dishes were too salty. Stick to what you know and like and you'll have a lovely meal
An interesting and varied tasting menu at very affordable prices. Would have been a 5* had it not been for the slightly disappointing pigeon main - still flapping and under-seasoned. Still, for £45 a head and some truly delicious courses, well worth a visit.
Tasting menu was not that great, the flavours did not have me wanting more. Would just have the lamb next time
