I visited Richard for a fitting for the Model 2.  He was welcoming, unhurried  and knowledgeable and the ride I took on a Model 2 was the most comfortable of any bike I've owned.  The bike was responsive and fitted like a glove.  I've also found him patient and informative in correspondence and I can hardly wait to take delivery

I have just purchased a bike from Oxford Bike Works. The owner, Richard, is a perfectionist and very keen to make sure you have the right bike for your needs.
I have just taken delivery of an Expedition model with Rohloff gears. Have been out on a test ride with it. It rides beautifully, is very well made and looks amazing. The gears work like velvet. Richard is keen for feedback so I have every faith that if I need any adjustments to the bike or have any issues, then he will do his best to sort things out.

It was an absolute pleasure visiting Richard and test riding his bikes. He gave me an hour long fitting session on his Model 2 bike, sharing his wealth of knowledge, personal recommendations and worldly wisdom. The best thing about buying from Richard, i don't feel like i'm simply buying a bike from him - he is making a bike specifically for me. Could not recommend more.

I purchased a touring bike from Richard at Oxford Bike Works on Saturday, took it up onto the Ridgeway, around the edge of the Cotswolds and home to Cambridge (220Km approximately in total) and the bike was superb. It handled the off road sections with  comfort and the gearing was perfect for the hilly Cotswold sections. I was delighted that I had no pain between my shoulders which I suffer with when I ride my road bike. All in all I am so pleased to have a bike which offers the flexibilty of being able to ride on roads and tracks,  just what I wanted. Thank you Richard for your great service and expertise.

This guy didn't seem bothered about getting my business. I contacted him about getting oil services done on 3 Rohloff speed hubs.  I have 4 long distance cycles ...a serial collector who is probably in the market for the kind of bikes this guy makes.  He suggested I contact him in July so I suggested a week in July ... he could not be bothered to even make a booking..... going to Warlands on the Botely Road instead
