Kirk was really helpful and helped us choose a good quality bike that suited our needs. He was very knowledgeable and told us about the £5 Motoring Club Savings and the benefits of the care plan. All the staff were friendly.
An absolute joke. Over an hour in a queue to pick up two bikes that were bought and paid for weeks ago and scheduled to collect today. Ordered £70 of extras - lights and stands and had paid for the bikes to be built, but these aren’t fitted as this is £5 per item, per bike, extra. Would have paid if they had of asked in advance but on the day the queue was longer than when I got there so not fair on everyone one else; his would have been included apparently if I had of taken out the care plan they tried to sell me by email, text, phone ! and in store. Trying to sell the extras no one wanted was part of the reason for the queue. Then I wheeled the first one out and the brakes were sticking - so much for the pre-delivery inspection and glad I didn’t buy a care plan if they can’t even build one right. Utter disgrace. Thank you Halfords, Happy Christmas!
Customer service is equivalent to a scam - better to avoid if you can. I bought a bike 8 months ago and signed up to Premium Cycle Care, with the promise that it is the most efficient way to keep cycle in good health, with a promise of Bronze and Silver cycle service after defined periods. However, whenever I take my cycle for service, I have been turned away by the staff that they are not taking any more bikes. I have tried 3 times now and it feels like customers are made to commit to multi-year service promise I bought 3 year care package and then are refused to take the burden of actually doing the work! Shambles
I ordered a bike maintenance stand for in-store collection. It came quicker than I expected. The pick up was easy and the young guy who served me was welcoming and helpful. Altogether a positive experience, so thank you!
I went in to look for a bike for my son and daughter. We found some nice bikes but a little more then our budget. We were given some advice about the bikes we were considering to buy by Kirk, Mike and Chris. We finally came to a decision with the options of a little discount with cycle care plan and the guys mentioned had our bikes asembled, ready and checked within 2 hours. My kids were happy with their Apollo and carrera bikes. Staff were excellent ... professional and helpful.
Jake at Halfords Botley road fitted me a new headlight bulb within five minutes of my arrival . He was polite, friendly and provided excellent service as did other members if staff on previous visits. I know where to always come when a headlight bulb goes on my car … thanks for providing this service for people like me who wouldn’t otherwise know what to do!
Wonderful. On a lunchtime mission to get a brake light bulb and windscreen wipers for a reasonably elderly car on a deadline. The guy found everything I needed in no time, way quicker than me hunting around. Just ask the in-store people, they're great!
Went to to purchase a new helmet, the team up stairs were amazing, and so helpful and guided to help purchase the right one. Without just suggesting the most expensive. Which is a great change for a retailer. I will definitely being going back to Botley when I need other items .
Store manager was very helpful and does his best to somehow work in this fundamentally failing company. If you have any questions, please reach out to him directly, the central customer service team won't have access to updated information or offer any decision-making. They are there to palliate angry customers, not offer solutions.
The team was fantastic, especially the guy who worked on my Honda Unfortunately, I lost the piece of paper with their names. They were friendly, professional, and highly skilled. Highly recommend!
