Story

Formerly Kelvinside Parish Church, Òran Mór, Gaelic for ‘great melody of life’ or ‘big song’, is a thriving arts & entertainment venue in the heart of Glasgow’s West End.

We offer a Victorian Bar and Whisky Bar, John Muir Room Restaurant and Brasserie Restaurant, Private Dining Room, Live Music venue, Night Club, and our stunning Auditorium with mural ceiling by Alasdair Gray.

As well as hosting the now internationally recognised ‘A Play, A Pie and A Pint’ lunchtime theatre programme, Òran Mór also provides the perfect setting for Weddings, Private and Corporate Events.

The Brasserie Restaurant uses Scottish produce wherever possible, freshly prepared by an in-house team of chefs. Bar meals are also served in the Whisky and Victorian Bars, incorporating the John Muir Room restaurant.

Upstairs in the private dinning room we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Menu had excellent choices and preparation to detail was wonderful. For a small special event it's ideal. Highly recommended.
Covid safe bar. Visited last weekend. The staff were all wearing masks. The bouncers made sure the table sizes stayed under 8. There is lots of hand sanitizer. The menus were paper and single use. The staff cleaned the tables between uses, even outside in the beer Garden.
Special place. Sister building you the Alfred Hotel. Pub theatre and music venue. Lots if local talent in images around the walls. Go...Just to have a look. Nice atmosphere!
Nice drinks selection, nice atmosphere. On the pricey side but it's the west end so pretty normal. Recommend

A cool looking pub that has a good selection of cocktails. And some cool decor. *You have to provide your contact info before being allowed in to the pub.

Certainly an unusual experience to drink and eat in a church. It's a very nice spot though. Definitely a must try when in the area. They make great classical haggis, offer good beer and such. Staff was very pleasant too.
