First proper food stop upon reaching Glasgow. Seemed somewhat scary to wander into a local establishment as tourists, but the service staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable in making us feel welcome. Food and drinks were delicious too! Great vibes all around, amazing start to my vacation in Scotland.Food: 5/5
Traditional pub. In for drinks with friends. Nice atmosphere with live music. Wait at the bar wasn't too long. Decent prices. Mojito was a little flat. Toilet was stinking, we were sat at the front window a number of meters away, and you could smell urine from that distance. Soured our experience. Seemed to be an issue with ladies toilet being closed too. One of my favourite places to visit in Byres Road so will be back, hopefully issues having been resolved.
I had been dying to go here since our last Glasgow visit as it has a cool history. To be honest I was expecting a bit more of an oldy worldy feel but it was more like an enjoyable Weather spoons feel. Very clean, popular and sure the beers were great. Dog friendly so that was a bonus and you can catch the rugby on big feck off screens, but it just missed a stronger heartbeat. Definitely worth a pint in, should you be in the neighborhood.
A regular visitor to Tennents. Always a great atmosphere, especially for the football. Sunday quiz and raffle are fun, with host Blath. Staff are excellent, coping with busy match days. Special mention to Michele, a wee gem. Food and prices are excellent for a West End bar.Food: 5/5
Classic Glasgow pub with typical menu, slightly altered to the better. Was served by a cheerful, smiling young lady called Heather. Makes a difference when the staff are happy Recommended dishesSteak & Guinness Pie
Was in for food and drinks today with a couple pals and everything was brilliant! We had heard a few different opinions of the bar but thought we would give it a go! Food was excellent and the service from the bartender Michelle was different level for a pub!! Usually wouldn’t leave a review but the service was like nothing we had experienced in a boozer before! What made it even better was the chef Heather we had the pleasure of meeting too! One of party can be quite awkward and annoying sometimes but nothing was to much to ask for either of the girls! They went above and beyond and were chatty and really gave us the time of day even though they were both busy! Food was great! But the service from Michelle and Heather is the reason we are planning coming back next week! Thank you girls!
Been in a few times recently with friends and various family members after a run of some birthdays - great to be back on Byres Road sampling various bars. It was brilliant the 2nd time we went in as Michelle remembered some of us from the previous week - excellent service with a smile, and made us laugh. A real asset to the bar! Definitely be back in the coming weeks.
Great traditional pub in the West End of Glasgow. Spotless bar and toilets. Friendly and courteous staff who were knowledgeable about their beers and food, which were all reasonably priced. Would come back again and recommend to friends.
